Currently SkyQ box but looking to get Freesat.
My Location
Essex, UK
I'm looking to get a Freesat recorder box when my Sky contract ends. My Sky box is in a cupboard behind my TV & the remote works via Bluetooth. From what I have read, the Freesat remote only works on InfraRed. I there anything I can buy for the Freesat box so that I can keep the box hidden?

Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum
I am not aware of any such converter so I suspect the only solution (more of a workaround) would be to open the cupboard door or drill a hole

...or move your freesat box out of the cupboard!

I got a samsung tv & if I use the smart remote, it will control my Humax freesat box basic functions, I think it sends commands via the HDMI cable

Or, get one that works with HDMI-CEC like the post above. I can control my Enigma2 receivers using my TV remote - that may be an option worth looking at.

This one says it comes with a bluetooth remote

That's a Freeview receiver, not Freesat.

It's a shame Humax no longer make Freesat boxes, as they were far better in terms of quality and reliability than the current junk.

If you can face replacing PSU caps every few years.

I have an original non-PVR and a first generation HDR and they have never needed any repairs! (Please let this not be the kiss of doom :D)
