anyone using a DM900?

I can get one fairly cheap - wondered if its worth it, or are there newer and better alternatives for an E2 box...

its funny how things work out - almost answering my own question, but just shy of 12 months since i posted, i have just ordered one (a DM900) to replace my MIO 4K+ - as the random loss of signal issue is doing my head in, and i can only put it down to the MIO being a faulty receiver.

was tempted by the "Dreambox Two" - but couldnt justify the extra money

A good box, but quite often low-quality flash memories were installed (light only red LED and none answer)

To my surprise the one that arrived is the RC20 EDITION . Which I believe is a 2020 model and might not suffer the issue ...?

It depends on the quality of the components used on the board

Any reason you haven't gone with black hole image
Blindscan...PLI and now ATV are the only images that are not based on DreamboxOS I have found so far that work. The blindscan however, is the same as the Dreambox OS, as the plugin written by Heuvos doesn't work with the Dreambox.

Could you please clarify better this last point?
I have DM920, and I'm looking for the best image having blindscan and, possibly, locking SR values below 1000.
I tested Openatv 7.0 but I had issues regarding tuner settings.
I have 1 dual satellite tuner and 1 dual terrestrial tuner installed in my box, but I was not able to use the second satellite input with that image so I replaced it with a different one based on OE2.5, but blinscan was lost.
What can you say? Thanks.

I have the DM900 not the DM920. They are possibly different tuners. Specs say they are FBC tuners..

Well, I do not believe they are so different.
I have FBC tuners too. My satellite tuner has 2 physical inputs but 8 "virtual" tuners.
This is my main issue. As I mentioned, I was not able to configure the second input with Openatv but I would like to have blind scan and very low symbol rates detection (between 500 and 1000).
So, I'm looking for an image with this features. Thanks.

I think the issue is the fact you have FBC tuners, I just have S2 tuners. The tuner module is a plugin job. If you put S2 tuners in instead, it would probably be OK.

Yes you are right. My tuner is the twin FBC one, model 45308.
I choose this tuner becuase multistream was needed here. It would be a very simple job to replace it with a non-FBC one as you mentioned, but maybe changing the image would be simpler. Thanks.

Tuners
Tuner A1:Si2166D (DVB-S2)
Tuner A2:Si2166D (DVB-S2)
My tuner is a DVB-S2X one, model 45308.
I see 8 tuners (from A1 to A8) but physical inputs are only 2, and I'm not able to configure the second one using Openatv image as I mentioned earlier.
I solved this problem installing Satlodge image but I would prefer Openatv due to blindscan features. Bad luck.
