hi all i am trying to find a receiver with a sensitive tuner i have had technomate receivers and the one i am using now is the 5402HD CI+ super+ which is the best i have had, better than the vantage x221 ci,it locked some channels that the vantage could not and with the latest software that lets you scan in 1 to 32 increments though if you scan in 1 or 2 increments it take longer its quite good, but i am not sure how good the tuner is,i had been watching the ertu mux on 24.5W it faded out, so out of curiosity i took my satellite tester the one you get of e-bay with the lcd screen model no CY70356 they are about £80,well i took a short piece of sat cable and tested ertu mux it was there on this receiver weak and broken pixels neverless so i thought maybe the sat cable going inside the house i checked with the tester and it was the same as before, thats why i wondered how good is the sensitive of this receiver.

I can answer your question in mid August. When they have f-15 I will buy one in Ireland. They told me they had them in three weeks time. Then I can compare them both and answer. I buy f-15 because of spectrum analyser , GUI in hd and quality parameter shown in db. I am going to sell my 5402 then.

OK thanks. You might be able to put F15 software on TM5402 but I haven't seen it done on this particular model.

Support of F15 is rather dissapointing from the beginning of 2012. As I wrote it in another thread, the company seems to pay more attention in exhibitions and fairs, than end users...
Is it still like that for F15?
What is the most recent patched software version?
What improvements have been introduced over the last year or so?

The most recent version of the software is 207p, as of June this year. I don't think that there are significant changes or improvements over previous versions, just fixes for some bugs, support for smartcards (russian mainly). Anyway, maybe there is no need for serious changes after all, the decoder is stable enough and perform its job more or less.

Thanks strs65.
Somebody mentioned that there appeared a problem with signal strength fluctuating before locking on.
Can anyone confirm that?
One of the reasons I would buy F15 is signal indication on weak satellites when it is hard to get a lock, so that would be a drawback if that function did not show the right signal strength.
Can anyone comment, please?

Yes, with very weak borderline signals, it can take a good few seconds to get a lock and is only really an issue when scanning channels. The problem is that once the lock is obtained from the frequency input page and channel search initiated, it tries to obtain the lock again and will occasionally time the search out if it doesn't get a lock within 5 seconds.
