Firmware V .62 is available:

Via Interweb for those using stock Firmware

Via Downloads for those using modified Firmware

Improvements to stability of DVB Subtitles on HD Channels

Also, a Scan option "Renew Channels Data" has been introduced, but I'm not at all sure what it actually does!

I did select it when rescanning 5W12606 to restore Rete4 HD but to what effect?

If you select “Renew channels Data” the new parameters of the channel that is broadcasted will be used instead of the old ones.
Eg. when a channel changes its name or when another channel broadcasts with the parameters of an old channel, the new name will be overwritten in your channel list
Or when a channel/transponder stops broadcasting the channels that will give “no signal” will be deleted

Why have they left the broken Kodi in all these updates, surely it's just a waste of flash.

I have the .63 firmware in my mailbox, but I don't know how to upload it here. The file is too large to process...

Does anyone know how to upload it to someone of sat-soft so they can modify it and make it public?

If past performance is a guide, it'll happen within a few days .....

What fixes/enhancements does it include? Have they got Kodi working properly?

I have this firmware in my mailbox since October last year so I guess I’m the only one who has the firmware because I don’t find anything else on the internet!
I don’t have the .63 installed because I use the modified.62 so I can’t tell you exactly what’s new.

I called Edision today to ask if they had any more news about the subtitles that won’t work properly... but they didn’t have anything new. Strange they never released the .63 officially!

Best I can remember (without digging out my mothballed Primo IP S2), the running out.elf STB app's memory dumps indicated that sat-soft URLs, embedded within (for FW updates etc), *are* the official "unofficial" site. If they were going to release it, it would be there already I'd guess...

For those of us who don't care about the unofficial stuff on these boxes (eg I use my sx88 solely for its rapid blind scan... Edision should be identical there... but it's bugged/lagging in updates), an upload anywhere would be appreciated, in the hope that the rev update has any fixes for that user's particular issues.

Hi, I am using two Edision primo IP S2 receivers since about 4 months or so. The main reason is for me the T2-MI reception on 40 and 53 East (C-Band) plus all other streams that now are present at C-Band like on 10 degrees East while on Ku-Band (separate dish) the French, Italian and other streams can be viewed. A few remarks and questions:
1. As far as I understand Kodi will never work because the receiver has too little memory. I lack the technical knowledge to confirm yhis but I've seen this stated on other fora more than once.
2. In the info sheet it says "15000 channels TV & Radio programmable" but in reality I can do blindscans until I've got somewhere around 3000 TV stations (enough for one used for the C-Band) but the other one for Ku-Band stops adding channels after there's around that number in it's database. Is that your experience too or am I doing something wrong?
3. Certain streams like TV Castilla-La Mancha on Hispasat that was received without any problems on the Octagon sf4008 cannot be received with this receiver. BUT... for the Octagon it was necessary to enter all data manually to receive this transponder while as far as I can discover I cannot enter any specific details for scanning into the Edision primo receiver. Or can I? The extremely limited manual leaflet seems to give far less information than the receiver actually is capable of.
4. Can anyone tell me how to find and a enter IPTV stations in this thingy? I used to use my Xtrend ET 9500 successfully for this and edited the data with the E-Channelizer settings editor but this doesn't appear to work the same way with this one. I can by modifying the inlog parameters reach the Edision to move and alter sat channels but so far had no success with IPTV. Given the fact that IP is the first thing mentioned in the name of the receiver it's rather odd that I haven't been able to use that aspect of it yet.

I'd be most interested to learn much more about this receiver and therefore to get in contact with other users to be able to exchange further experiences with it.

Seems this box hasn't had an update for a while. The Octagon SX series are still getting frequent updates.

Indeed, Edision seem good at not updating software! The Mio is still waiting a fix from them for multistream blindscan.
Another manufactuer ticked off my listed for any more purchases!

Does it need one?

I can't say I've spotted any deficiencies other than Kodi being forked.

It's a shame they have stopped updating the drivers. The tuner in the Edision Nino Pro is half decent and the receiver had reasonable potential when paired with a good image.

The Primo really needs Some updates. The subtitels in the HD Chanels wont werk properly, the teletext subs won’t record, the box sometimes doesn’t record, which means you can’t trust it to record your favourite tv show and the Kodi won’t work... I’ve called to Edision several times but they are not interested anymore in the primo... such a shame... Could be a hell of a lot better if they fixed those issues... Not that the Primo is that bad... but could be better... a lot.

At Edision, they tell me to buy the MIO 4K...

No Edision anymore for me...
I’m looking for replacement for my four PRIMO’s.
Multistream, T2-MI, Abertis TDT and E2 Chanel list should be supported, if possible also 4K, and not too expensive...
