Looking at the maps, anything ending up on B transalpine will be goodbye in scandinavia
Rai 11013V, 11179V.. working here 1.8m
3m everything works, 12543H has the smallest margin (without adjusting skew)

1,8 Channel Master, Black Pro LNB with CM feedhorn for 28 E which is my main interest when watching TV. VU+ DUO 4K SE, VU+ DUO 2, Octagon SF8008 and Vantage 8000 S and TS receivers. Fixed dishes at: 42 E (0,75 m), 28,2/28,5 E (1,8 m), 19,2 E (1,5 m), 13 E (1,1 m), 9 E (0,7 m), 5 E (1,2 m) and 1 W (0,7 m).

Mine (in Oslo) is a Famaval 110 (in reality 105...), there's a guy in Kristiansund N getting excellent reception on E5WB with a Triax 110...so chances are that the reception in Bergen is not so bad with a 110 which I still consider reasonable but I understand your point...the main reason why I keep E5WB is for the sports channels. I have also read that picture quality is not as good in 19E but not sure how "true" that is though...
Well your results with an 110 cm antenna are very good. The weather has been extremly windy lately so I haven't tried turning one of my 1,8 m at 5W yet but I will certainly try it. The test will only be just for fun since I don't speak French.

Am only going for the normal french channels, so of course anyone wanting the extras will need more than a basic tnt.
The tnt 19e picture quality looks excellent, to my eyes at least, also compared to any other hd on 19e.
If I'd needed 5w, I'd wait for the transponders to settle down (should happen soon?), then get the suitable dish dimension.
Good luck.

I barely tried your tweak for adjusting the LNB position by the way but I did not get any improvement so I'll need to assume that the quality of my dish is good

^^ you don't use the dish type the adjustments may apply to, but one never knows and always fun trying things to get those elusive last few dB's :O)

Hi,
Here is the situation in Romania 400km from footprint Transalpina. I have 80cm offset, LNB INVERTO with 2 output and Starcom 9947

After a permanent monitoring (daily I look at the French and Italian channels, especially the news and reports ... French CNEWS / BFM / FRANCE INFO and Italian RAINEWS24 / SKYTG24 / TGCOM24 /), I can say that the only problem transponder is 12543 h 34200 8 / 9 ... which cannot be received with a 130 cm antenna, even when the sky is clear!

This is why I had to replace the antenna of 130 cm (in the past with this antenna the signal was almost maximum ... after passing the frequencies on our satellite E5WB, the signal decreased), with an antenna larger than 150 cm) .

I mention that the test area is OLTENIA ... SOUTH VEST ROMANIA

On a torrential rain I tested several frequencies with both antennas ... with 150 cm antenna and 130 cm antenna:

ps: the surprising anomaly is at the frequency 11509 h ... where the image quality results is higher at the antenna of 130 cm (85/92) ,,, than at the antenna of 150 cm (89/84) !

It seems that you checked the Euthelsat A frequency, that,s' why you have nice signal. Can you do the same check for Euthelsat B (11554V or 11096V), please?

There is no mistake, everything is perfect ... all frequencies checked are from the new E5WB satellite, the TRANSALPINA spot.
Thus, you either are in error, not being familiar with the satellite receipts of the television channels (I have over 30 years experience in this field) ... or it has made you a diversion in order to find out the image quality for those two transponders mentioned by you, of the FRANSAT package ... you are probably a subscriber (or you want to subscribe), to the Fransat package and you want to know the signal strength and signal quality, in this area (OLTENIA, SOUTH WEST VEST ROMANIA), because then, adapt the reception antenna for your area.
Because you are a member of the respectable and esteemed forum, "SATELLITES.CO.UK" and my colleague on this forum, I will satisfy your curiosity and I will post what you asked.

ps: please mention the area d-v from ROMANIA and the size of the receiving antenna, in order to appreciate also the confusion regarding the reception of the TRANSALPINE signal.

The first 4 images (1,2,3 and 4) are with 130 cm antenna ... the next 4 images (5,6,7 and 8) are with 150 cm antenna.

Thank you marshall54. I realy appreciate your answer. I thru, I'm not a big specialist, but I'm trying to solve my reception issue for Pitesti area. As I already write in one of my prevoius comments, I have 80cm offset equiped with LNB INVERTO with 2 output and Starcom 9947 receiver that I'm using for FRANSAT package. With 80cm I'm at the limit of the reception, and the most sensitive frequency is France2 which I cannot receive it 80% of the day. According to your results, I should change my 80cm with 130cm to improve my reception. But 130cm is hard to find so probably I will try with 110cm and see if will work.

Hey Alejandro, nice to read you have good reception in Oslo, far from the beam, given by pro-Eutelsat fanatics. You have enough of link margin, more than 4 dB for Fransat. ;)

Good news for you, french satexpat (mdr), you have a good alternative for the french channels with Astra 1.. the complete transfert 'll be done in June 2020.

Hi and thanks! Isn't the limit 8 dB? I have 11,4 dB in the really best case for 11096 V (which I am struggling to find back again after some strong winds here two weeks ago), 11554 V is in the best case at 10,7 dB but right now it's rather around 10 dB. That should normally give at least a little bit of limit for bad weather, the problem is actually the "oscillations" probably due to the fact that I am in the limit of the coverage zone...right now I loose 11554 V during the evening (around 2300) even with nice weather. My plan is to go for a bigger dish (120, like Laminas or Gibertini)...as soon as I find one for a reasonable price :-)

Looks similar to 28e UK beam in Bergen, there's a 4-5 db diff. day\evening.
Then add some bad weather in evening and some seasonal signal variations...
Only cure is large dish.

Telesatellite Forum reports that the rest of the FR3 regions will move across to 5WB on the night of 7/8th April. To be confirmed of course.

Further to my post above, the move of FR3 regions and some other channels from 5WA to 5WB has been postponed until further notice, and will not take place on 7/8th April. I'm sure I don't need to say why.

Let's hope the wobble doesn't get any worse.

The inclination wobble will indeed continue to get steadily worse. Once it gets up past about 0.5 degrees it will be noticable to household dishes.

Yes indeed Analoguesat, perhaps I should have written "Let's hope the wobble doesn't get any worse BEFORE Eutelsat can make arrangements to empty 5WA".

Can't change the laws of physics or the reality of an empty fuel tank!

I was reflecting on why they've delayed the move of the rest of the Fransat transponders from 5WA to 5WB, given that presumably it just involves pushing a few buttons at Eutelsat HQ. I then started to wonder if it was because the work on the ground in Italy to swing the receive dishes (from 5W to 9E) that pick up Persidera has ground to a halt because of coronavirus. AIUI they can't move what they need to move on Fransat from 5WA to 5WB until they've got rid of the stuff that is ultimately destined to be on 9E, because there just isn't enough juice available on 5WB thanks to the broken solar panel, and if the work on the ground hasn't finished I imagine that they're right royally stuck.

But I dont' know if that's the actual explanation.

Not long to go now for fixed dish systems to experience reception problems

There is a much easier way just move one of your satellites that have loads of capacity that is not used at the current location:-
Eutelsat 33E @ 33.1°E
Hot Bird 13E @ 13.0°E
So it is not just Sybil Fawlty that has a dormant organ between her ears :-rofl2
