Is there a reason for this change?
The 11509 H has shut down forever?
Thanks.

Yup, gone! I imagine it’s forever - with 12732V having been on air for a few months now, presumably the overlap has been while they’ve changed all the satellite receivers over at the terrestrial transmitter sites across France. Only TDF will know the reason for the change - maybe we’ll see something else appear around 11509H.

Must have gone off yesterday. I didn’t check it then but a couple of recordings I had set on TF1 failed.

I’ve updated my channel list to use 12732V but the signal level is rubbish compared to 12648V (and the old 11509H). There’s less than 1dB of rain margin, which is useless as we head into the autumn!

I’d been holding off doing anything until this situation forced my hand, hopefully I might be able to get a bit more signal with some minor adjustment to my dish.

I believe the problem with 12732V is interference from 12739V on 3°W.

Ahh! Thanks for the info. That might actually be a positive then, as I’m pretty sure my dish points very slightly east of the optimum for 5°W which would make any interference from 3°W worse.

This is because the wall mount I got was on the small side, and to avoid the left side of the dish rattling against the wall in the wind I wedged it with a sponge, but that moved it round by a very small amount. Will see what I can do but a new mount might be going on the shopping list :D

Done a little bit of nudging and managed to gain a couple of dB.

Very fiddly, the tiniest bit of movement can knock 2dB C/N off, which I guess makes sense in terms of there being an interfering signal. I’m hoping with a better mount I can fix it to a suitable level now :)

The best way of obtaining the maximum SNR is to move only the small aluminium holder of each LNB.
The dish itself is not turning left and right, nor up and down.

Well it was good while it lasted! I only had a marginal signal for the original TP and it would fade in and out. I'm a good few DB away from getting a lock.
Might just stump for Kabelio now.

Wind and rain here this morning but the signal seems quite strong on 12732V, I'm not sure if they've increased it a little bit.

Hello there
I live near Toledo capital.
I do not have your measuring instruments, but I also have the impression that they have increased the 12732 V signal.

Sadly up here I'm still not getting something strong enough to lock. If anything the power seems a bit lower here, though the weather is bad. Maybe the beam has been tightened a bit.
RAI channels mostly coming in OK with a bit of breakup, as do the encrypted Fransat channels.

Yep. French ok yesterday, but gone today.

Italians still massively strong here in N.Yorks, though but.

Interesting, I'd say it's up by about 1dB here compared with previously. 12648V still very strong as before (a couple of dB stronger than 12732V).

The Italians are in between the two in terms of strength, but the much lower FEC means they have tons more margin.

Had a look here as well this morning and certainly 12648V and 12732V are good here. 12732V about a dB less than 12648V. 12732V is near the upper end of the IF when converted 2.132Ghz. If you have long cables or poor splitters or combiners check for them passing up to 2.5Ghz.

Rain will also attenuate the interference, whether it's enough to improve signal I don't know. A touch more skew may also help if 5°W employs the Eutelsat skew offset. If using a motor a click or two west might also help, if I remember someone in Glasgow with a 1m dish improved their reception of 12732V using this method.

Cable run is fairly long (about 18m I think) with a break at the dish end for a DiSEqC switch, which was my initial worry. But I'm more convinced now that it is interference from 3°W that causes the problems in the main.

Rain will also attenuate the interference, whether it's enough to improve signal I don't know. A touch more skew may also help if 5°W employs the Eutelsat skew offset. I think this does apply to an extent actually! I've noticed before that it will stay fairly static at its just-above-lock level in the rain until a certain point when it drops out, but that point is still a lot sooner than for the stronger 12648V (and 11509H before it).

Apart from the disappearance of 11509 H, the signal remained at the same level(#196) as two months ago at this position.
Evening is the best time to check the signal on all transponders at 5.0W, even for Eut 5 West A inclined.
