For Belgium, the reception on a Triax 88 became a little better, I guess. It is very foggy outside. Normally I would see a little dip in reception with such foggy weather but now I didn’t notice anything when tuning 12648V.

They're all basically identical to before here in the South West Midlands this morning on an 80cm dish with C/N levels of 15-16dB.

Perhaps about 0.3dB SNR lower on 11509H/12648V multistreams but within the range they normally drift between, that could be the slight skew difference maybe though anyway.

11509H 15.9dB
12648V 15.0dB

12648 still slightly weaker than 11509, so if I didn't know they'd moved I would have guessed they were still on 5WA. Interesting from other reports that the cut-off does seem severe at the edges though then!

Morning update! To my most pleasant surprise everything is still receivable! They must have shifted the beam a little bit or played with the power because even the initially marginal 12648 last night is now at 14dB and 11509 stands at 16dB! RAI seems the same except 11637 that is now stronger at 17dB!!! Some reduction on the low SR radios but still everything in place! Well at least a weight has been lifted...
A full report will be ready later!

I live in Ireland, West Cork. I still receive all the Fransat channels. Are we sure that the beam used for Fransat is the transalpine beam? Because the transalpine beam should not cover Ireland.

Thank you for all your reports William-1 Do you think that the transalpine beam will remain constant? Or can the beam power be turned down if the power levels are high in France?

Satellite Eutelsat 5 West B: what impact for the reception of FRANSAT?

The Eutelsat 5 West B satellite will be put into service during the night of 20 to 21 January and on this occasion, FRANSAT will communicate with professionals about upcoming operations.

As we know, the failure of a solar panel on the Eutelsat 5 West B satellite will not allow it to use all of the capacity initially planned, but the operator guarantees that the satellite will deliver nominal power performance and have a lifespan. normal.

From January 21, a first set of services including the block of free DTT channels will be transferred from Eutelsat 5 West A to Eutelsat 5 West B, then on February 6 by the majority of complementary free TV and radio. For the rest of the channels and services offered by FRANSAT, operations will be carried out later.

In principle, this operation will be transparent for all households receiving satellite television via FRANSAT. In the event of a reception problem, which was not the case before January 21, this may be due to incorrect adjustment of the satellite dish. In this case, it will be necessary to adjust the setting as best as possible. An antennist will be able to perform this operation (you can find the coordinates of antennists by clicking here .

In summary, the malfunction of the solar panel of the Eutelsat 5 West B satellite does not jeopardize the distribution of the Fransat bouquet. On the other hand, the adjustment of the parabola will have to be perfect .

You are lucky...
Here in West/ North Portugal we lost pretty much everything. With 65cm is impossible to receive anything at all. Even with 240cm and good LNB, I can only get marginally 11096 V and that's it. Very rapid drop-off towards North Portugal.

There will be quite a lot of angry people next Summer, as there are tens of thousands inmigrants that live in France and come back to Portugal only to find their french channels dark.... the French ex-pats here will also not be very happy

Haven't even tried to get West 5B (most certainly impossible to get it at my location) since there is nothing of intetrest for me there. Thankful for all German FTA-channels at 19E as well as all FTA:s at 28E. :)
