After having given a lot of input to Technomate to create the Blind Scan on the TM5302HD I have come to the conclusion that this is as good as in gets for non Linux Satellite receivers,

These are currently the Best Receiver for Feed Hunting in my opinion TM5502HD & TM5302HD
For a quick & easy set up to find out what is active on a satellite,
Go to 10 east feeds satellite (Active in the Ku band 10.7 to 11.7GHz & 12.5 to 12.75GHz
For quicker results I usually split the Ku band up into smaller groups with the most active 1st

Method 1
Move to the satellite that you want to search
Now to see what is active between 10700 to 12750 on this satellite use the Satellite Finder

Menu >> Installations >> Satellite Finder

Part-1
1/Installation
2/Advanced search
3/Move the cursor to transponder & press ok this will show the list of transponders
4/Press the yellow button Delete All & press OK then exit exit
5/Now go to Blind Search & press OK
6/Select transponder range for the 1st scan
7/Press ok now set From 10950 To 11200 using both vertical & horizontal polarisation
8/Select Step Scan @ 6MHz & press the red button to search

This method is a lot faster than going through the data base that may include 40 transponders
to delete non active transponders

Part-2
As above 1 to 6 now for the 2nd scan select From 11450 To 11700

Part-3
3rd scan From 12500 To 12750

Part-4
11200 to 11450

Part-5
10700 to 10950 Vertical polarisation

This completes the active part of the Ku band used by Eutelsat 10A @ 10 east your
channel list for this satellite
Will now be up to date provided your Dish & Lnb have been set up correctly.

Eutelsat 9A @ 9 east uses 11700 to 12500 for DTH broadcasts.

Before you start a scan you can either remove the dead transponders manually one at a time
or you can delete all transponders on a satellite via the Yellow button accessed
via Menu>> Installations>>Advanced Search then move the cursor down to Transponders
then press ok & the option will appear on the Yellow Button "Delete All"
Now exit exit & go to Blind Search,

It is only advisable to do this on Feed Satellites
not on Direct to Home satellites such as Astra 28.2 east 23.5 east 19.2 east
Hotbird ect.

Blind Searching Eutelsat 33E @ 33.1° East
Active part of the Ku band currently used by E33E is 10700 to 11200 = DTH & feeds
==================================11200 to 11700 = feeds & data streams
==================================12500 to 12750 = feeds, data streams & cable head ends

Thank you William, that is a nice presentation on how to proceed.
For accurate scanning of both frequency range and SR, the TM-5302 and TM-5502 are probably the most accurate receivers out there.
The only downside for me is the time taken to do a scan when lower step rates are used, it can be quite slow, for accuracy of scan though they are unbeatable.

I still have a pair of brand new and boxed TM-5502 receivers that I listed in the classifieds on the forum a good while ago.
I guess people prefer the more modern receivers with multistream and other app functionality not present on older satellite receivers?

Most of the feeds found today were MBS for Middle East Football.
By checking the satellite finder you will find the active part of the Ku band to Blind scan to find 6 active feeds in the 10820 to 11190 V took about 2 min.
See below what I used to decide what part of the Ku band to scan.

6 MHz is an ideal blind scan that is able to catch most of the active feeds in the shortest time within your start stop parameters,
mine was 11200 to 11450 on the next scan this mainly found data streams,
You can change the steps to 1MHz 2,3,4,6,8,16 & 32 (I used 3 to 6 MHz steps when finding feeds & 8 MHz for DTH sats such as 28.2E,19.2E, 13E ect.

There is a timer in the bottom right corner so you can make a note of the non-productive areas of the Ku band & adjust your Blind Scan accordingly.

I do this quite often that is why I am able to find out what is happening in my section of the geostationary belt.

Info Button Screens
Press the info (i) button 2x for this screen on your Handset remote control
Press the blue button for TS Info on your Handset remote control
Press the yellow button for Ch Info on your Handset remote control

Satellite Finder Screens
Select Satellite Finder from the Main onscreen Menu's

Select 22KHz OFF
Screen 1 = 10700 to 11700 Vertical polarization
Screen 2 = 10700 to 11700 Horizontal Polarization

Select 22KHz ON
Screen 3 = 11700 to 12750 V
Screen 4 = 11700 to 12750 H

Red button SEARCH in this menu will just scan the stored transponders on this satellites data base & store them

The Green button ANGLE is a guide to your dish set up
1st enter your Longitude & Latitude
Then press OK in Angle Calculation
Your Azimuth & Elevation readings will appear in the boxes below
You can use this as a guide to set up your dish

The Yellow button SAT LOCK
This will tell you if you are locked onto the satellite

The Blue Button TP LOCK
Will tell you what transponders in your data base are active

Blind Search
TP Range Select the start & finish frequencies of your scan
Consult my chart for active frequencies to scan

Step Scan default is 3 MHz (Select 3-4-6 for feeds) 8 for DTH
Polarization select from the following:-
H = Horizontal V= Vertical ALL for H & V
Scan Option = All / Free Only / $ Only
Radio Channels Yes / No
