1.2Mtr Polar MTG yes it has been on the arc for 35 years and is now fixed on 13 East using two pairs of rusty molegrips. Unlike me they never groan but always perform.

Michael Collins was called the "forgotten astronaut" because he piloted the orbiting command module while his crew-mates made the historic first moon landing in 1969.

A family statement said he died on Wednesday "after a valiant battle with cancer" and had "spent his final days peacefully, with his family by his side".

R.I.P. Michael

Certainly his part of the mission was important enough not to have been forgotten by me also.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

RIP

If anything, Collins involvement on the success of Apollo 11 was the most mission critical.

True, in Maltese we have a saying that says ''Il borma toqghod fuq tlieta'' which translate to ''The pot sit on three''
anything less is inadequate. So Collins involvement was as necessary as the rest.
RIP Michael.

I will remember him. He was the first man to experience absolute solitude. He was totally on his own when the Apollo craft was behind the Moon and he did not have contact with Earth. We got our two eldest children up to watch such an historical event. Without him the mission could not have been completed, technically he was the most important member of the team. RIP.
