I can confirm that it´s very important to adjust skew well on Nilesat, here far north. My experience says that when it´s "best" on 7W then it´s not best 28E anymore. But difference not so big that you should adjust it precisely for 7W. Other positions here are anyway so strong that it´s quite same if it make some miniature harm eg 19.2E etc.
But yes I really recommend that adjust skew at first...
Thank you vary much for this useful info . I do not receive any signal on Astra 2E and 2F any how . As you mentioned in your reply other birds are strong anyway.it was very sad i didn´t ask you before changing LNB to Inverto flange. I hope weather at weekend allows skew on Inverto flange and may be test of IBU withot feedhorn , although i do not think it will beat Invero flange on EchoStar 120 dish (Prodelin , a standard 0.6 F/D),. According to google it seems that no one tried IBU on such dish.

Thank you for info. I am not receving signal from 2E and 2F anyhow. i though if skew would improve signal on Nilesat.
In that case I would move the dish to Nilesat and try and get the best signal while skewing the LNB to the best position, then check your other satellites after.

And not in Umeå area but middle of Sweden anyway, very cool "bosses dishes" http://www.satwall.se/

Tjänare daif01! Here in Finland quite same results as you got. 102 verticals are easyer with 100-120cm dishes. 102 horisontals are watchable here in southern Finland with 150 offset. 12226H strongest H. I sometimes getting light signal from that frequency with my 125cm Gibby, but no lock though.
Former 101 was much more easyer than present other ones 201 and Eutelsat7. So you need at least 180cm pf and rather bigger if needing above.

26E quite difficult if using dishes under 180cm. Strongest freq. 12182H and also here BADR4 only chance anyway. Maybe Bosse get more with 450cm but "normal" 180pf can give only that badr4.
Do you get any signal from NSS 12 , 57E in Finland ?

Yep easily, both Ku/C. Central Asia beam very strong but you are maybe after these middle east-beam channels? They are also quite easy but many times weaker tha CA. Anyway 125cm offset picking these up now thought there raining outside. C-band also easy one (2.3m mesh).

Thank you very much for useful information about NSS12. I do not get any bird east on 47.5 E using 120 cm dish (EchoStar which is Prodelin , a standard 0.6 F/D) with Ecuator motor, V-box, Inverto flange LNB with C-120 feed horn , Vu+duo2 and F15 receiver. May be because of location , as you live in southern Finland and i live in northern Sweden, or may be because of trees as in the pic below . actually i am only interested in Duhok channel , because i read in other forum that this channel showing interesting football match . which LNB do you use

There´s footy just now on Duhok (Granada-Real Madrid).
If you check footprint (satbeamsdotcom) of 57E middle east beam, you´ll see that on your area signal strenght should be same or even little bit better than here near Helsinki. As allways signals are better in Sweden than Finland:mad: (I am only jealous:p ).

I have now some "no name" old Lnb, cause my former good one were broken by thunder on last spring. Been lazy to buy a new, because most of Ku-satellites are too strong nowdays. I am mainly a dx-watcher and looking mostly new channels etc only.
There´s many strong satellites after 47.5E. So something wrong if cannot see anything else. Maybe these trees as you mentioned but veeery difficult to say are these trees blocking or not. Take a picture from the roof and then lads here could guess harm or not..?

could not take pic from roof because of hard weather here. I took pic fro ground when dish is at 47.5 location , where i get very strong signal . then took pic when dish is where i suppose theoretically at 57E . It is very hard for me to say it is because these trees or may be the ecuator motor does not find exact elevation angle , although it find it on all other positions including 15W. As you mentioned many birds east on 47.5 E, 53E , 54.9 E and 57E shoud have very strong signals at my location. It is strange issue ?

Today i replaced the Inverto flange LNB ( inverto flange pro singel IDLB-SINF01-OOPRO-OPP ) with Invertock ultra lnb without using feed horn . I got strange results . the sky is clear and temp is very cold (-8). it is significantly worser on nilesat, i get no lock on nilesat. and worser signal on war sport hd on 3.1. On all other satellites i get much stronger signal, but still i got no bird east on 47.5

Strange issue since i changed LNB to Inverto block ultra . signals on all satellite are stable with exception of Nilesat and Badr4 on 26E. 3 days ago i was able for the first time to get signal from Badr4 , i could get about 60 channels with good signal SNR 50-55 %. suddenly yesterday very bad signals and today no signal at all neithet on badr 4 or nilesat although the weather condition ( cloud, wind ) was the same with 2 grade difference in temprature. Does signal on badr4 and nilesat used to change so much from one day to another ? is inverto black ultra so sensetive to temprature change?

My Black Ultras do not really change their characteristics in the cold although if they did they should, in theory, work better at colder temperatures. I've been using them between +30 to -30C.

Are you checking these satellites at the same time each day? In the fringes the signal levels can vary a lot over a 24 hour period.

Thank you for your reply. I allways test Nilesat and badr 4 at same time , may be 10 min between them. I want to ask , acording to your experince with fringe reception, doses signal level vary so much even if weather condition is the same?

I've not looked at those satellites in Finland but in the UK I've seen a change in signal on Nilesat (never looked at Badr) depending on the time of day. I only watched Nilesat for a week or so when testing a dish so I can't remember the extact times when the satellite was strongest, but it'll be different for you in Sweden anyway. You may find you can pick up a channel in the morning but not in the evening, for example (assuming weather conditions are the same).

In Finland I watch the Astra 2 satellites a lot so I know the pattern on those satellites. For example Astra 2A is strongest in the evening after 23:00 local time. Astra 2E is strongest at about 10:00. 2E channels are only visible for a few hours a day on my 85cm. Eutelsat 28A is also stronger in the morning.

Does not look good, but the trees do not let you see the forest.

To 57ºEast, you have to have clear from the antenna to the horizon, the trees are online and are higher by removing signal.
As indicated by peers and photo antenna is offset, it seems that points down, but OK, goes well.
------------------------

57ºEast AsiaTV DVB-S before switching to DVB-S2 and need 10% more signal.

To 7ºWest to 26ºEast is little antenna (120cm) of 450cm you need as you indicate.
These satellites from the south are easier, on the other hand I do not smell anything AzerSpace to 46ºEste.
Niles 7.3 W 11158V, no nothing (no signal) in Madrid (Spain) unless mistake and tune more than 1200 channels in this position, I do not say this far north.
------------

Thank you very much for this useful information. Finally you gave me explanation why i do not get signal from 57E although the trees are more than 10 meter away from the antenna. As you said at the 57E the dish should be very low , that mean it can not se horizont because of trees. Muchas gracias compañero.
