I like to do some gardening, especially to grow some hot peppers, and, of course, tomatoes and cucumbers. To be well-prepared for a new season, I've built this grow box (actually 2 separated upper and lower parts). In those boxes is possible to control temperature, humidity and lightning. Will plant some Carolina Reeper seeds in a couple of days. Tomato seeds will come in March and cucumbers a bit later.

Very jealous of this! Will you simulate day/night cycles or run them at a fixed light/temperature/humidity setting?

It is all adjustable. I can set needed humidity and temperature, so they will be automatically kept. Also, the light can be set at any schedule, intensity and day/night cycles, and that is controllable via cell phone.

I too am envious, what a fantastic job well done, I could do with one as my early spring sun is now blocked by the new estate at the back of us

Have already planted some seeds: 7 different hot peppers, tomatoes (for home window), dills, coriander, onions and some grass for cat. Set the dirt temperature 25*C, 60% air humidity and some light during day hours. Let's see how it goes.

A friend of mine said another day he needs the window in his greenhouse to be opened automatically when it becomes too hot. I've said to him, I have a solution... took an old 18" actuator, gave some maintenance to it, so it will be good for such a job.

What will you use for a thermostat?

Been using thermostatically controlled greenhouse ventilators for decades - last one came from Amazon or eBay about a year ago for around £15-20. Works very well!

Any thermostat can do the job. Something from a box.

There is a control box in my greenhouse I made some time ago. Totally 12 temperature probes. It controls 2 windows (driven by 12" actuators), 2 fans, plus additional fan/heater. A friend of mine did not want such a sophisticated box, so he will get something simpler.

That's the type to which I referred last night - simple and quite straightforward to install, provided you get the type appropriate to the frame (metal or wood) of the greenhouse.

My hot peppers are still in the grow-box, getting ready to move to the green-house IMG_20220413_174849a.jpg . Already planted 4 tomato seedlings to the greenhouse IMG_20220413_135936a.jpg . But we still have freezing temperatures at nights, so need to protect seedlings by covering them IMG_20220412_193913a.jpg .

Today: Lifted and split up Asters (for Autumn colour), divided and potted-on a 43p pot of supermarket Curly Parsley (far, far easier than growing from seed!), removed a rotten Bird Table and it's concrete base at SWBO's request. She is snuggled down in her reclining chair in her Study whilst I do all the work
