hey guys.

just wondered why some Gibby 125s have a white square type LNB holder, and some have circular aluminium ones? anyone know?

does it signify if the dish is either are steel or alumnium, as i know you can get them in either...

or could it be an age \ version thing? like old ones have the square type and newers ones have the circlular type?

pics attached for reference...

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Not sure how old my OP125L is (but guessing around 5-7 yrs?) has a round one - and most of the dishes shown on the current Gibertini website also have round ones.

The feedarms appear all to be steel, and I doubt the LNB holder material varies between the steel and aluminium dishes.

So, am guessing that the square ones are either very old, and/or else "unique" to a few specific dishes

Out of curiosity, I looked for "square" clamps for Gibbys and this, from 2014, turned up - see post #23 from dxsat, and so that "square" holder is definitely a very old unit (as would likely be any dish on which it is fitted!), and the rest of that thread makes quite interesting reading as well, including some comments that imply that some "oldish" round clamps were poorly manufactured.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Gibertini sales would always reply to technical questions when I was working with their products, sending a lot out free of charge - even though I was prepared to cover the cost of shipping, doing their best to eliminate the trouble caused by box shifters nearer to home.
