A quick search on the site confirmed it has been a decade since somebody mentioned SETI, and following the latest 'Click' episode, here is a thread on all things extra-terrestrial and broadcasting.

first up, the project Breakthrough Listen, which pays a substantial amount to hire the bigger radio telescopes to listen out for the aliens, intelligent or just noisy.

My Satellite Setup
OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

Custom built PC
My Location
Deep in the Boonies in the central Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
If you all want to listen in to some very eerie sounds from space then all you need is a long wire antenna and a radio receiver that can tune to around 20 to 25 MHz.

Then at night when Jupiter is up and you can see it, then tune through that band, I sit there fixed to the radio listing to this sound, it gets quit beautiful at times.

Here is some info for setting up for this.

This works best if you out in the boonies, as sometimes the local RF noise from around the city can interfere with this, I use my Yaesu FT1000, it has some very nice filters to knock out the mess.

US declassified encounters

The second could be a scramjet prototype, though it is difficult to gauge the speed from the video.

There are higher quality images still under wraps, the detail in the saucers could be cleaned up with modern processing
