Harddrive problem

My Satellite Setup
DM 600c
My Location
Sweden
I have a new harddrive in my Dreambox.
I've tried to format it but it has taken 3 hours now.
It's a harddrive on 12GB, so it shouldn't take that long.
I have checked every cable and even restarted.
Nothing seems to work.
What should I do?
The sleeptmode on the harddrive is off.

I had a similar problem with the DM600 not recognising the hard drive, which was a Western Digital 160GB model. As well as refusing to format the drive, the other symptom I had was the the Dreambox read back the drive type wrongly so instead of readin WD WD1600BEVE... it missed some characters and changed others from capitals to small letters. If you ask, me the PCB layout is poor and the tracks to the connector are too long. In the end, the only solution I found was to use an old Toshiba drive. I suppose you could also raise a ticket with Dream Multimedia.
