If you have and DON'T use any form of powerline connection can you take a look in the engineers menu to see if powerline is enabled?

If it is ON and you have an SDR could you have a sniff near the Q box to see if it sends out a signal even though it's not talking to anything. A length of wire poked in the antenna socket of the SDR and tuned to 26MHz will show if the box is sending out pulses of data.
