Blind scanned these ones in on the Edision IP S2 a couple of days ago, and they were all carrying a static 'Vuelta' image being shown on a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian!

Not a feed (at least I don't think it is ) , but on a blind search of Hispasat 30W earlier, the Octagon paused a long time at 10850 MHz , trying to capture what it believed was a 16APSK transmission. Nothing came through on the final channel list , but is there any transmission that is at this particular frequency ?

The phase shift it was looking at does lead to another question, but that is for later.

I think that's just some long-standing DVB-IP satellite Internet in 16APSK. My Octagon/Edision pick this up in a blindscan in the same way (lock but nothing found).

Speaking of 30⁰W data streams - There's apparently a TV channel in continuous/generic stream on 11422H 30000 16APSK (VPID 101 APID 1002). Can anyone see this and tell what it is through the garbled continuous stream picture?

I really need to get a 16APSK compatible PC card.

It looks like one of the Spanish Movistar sport channels, although it's not easy to make out!

Ahh thanks for these!

Can just see the little Movistar logo ungarbled in the top corner :D

As with most of these, kind of begs the question what the hell are they for? Especially in 640x360 - they’re not broadcast links.

I noticed something odd with the FAN3 DVB-IP channel transponder (10810H) this morning too. I can lock the transponder, but my TBS6905 reports lots of transport and continuity errors in the stream. Bizarrely though, when I decode the data from PID 515 to get the FAN3 channel, the output seems perfect with no glitches, so whatever the errors in the DVB stream are, they don’t seem to be affecting the packets carrying the TV channel somehow.

That leads to the other question. Since - I assume - your Octagon/Edison has 16APSK capability , what is the key advantage of using a satellite card over a standalone receiver ?

Is there a site that lists channels/broadcasts above 8PSK or is it in the main 'on the fly' uplinks and outside broadcasts ?

Well I use the satellite card mainly for watching TV, as it sits in a media PC and I access the channels over the home network. The cabling from my fixed dishes only goes to a cupboard where the PC is. There’s no satellite connection where the TVs are.

I would say the key advantage though is that you have more tools available on the PC to be able to analyse streams and see what’s inside them. Especially for me that’s been stuff like the encapsulated Spanish stuff on 30°W. Of course that now works on these other boxes, but all the investigation to get there was only really possible with PC Cards to analyse the hidden data PIDs on each transponder.

Theoretically, with Linux boxes like the Octagons and Edisions you should be able to do similar by using tools on the command line interface (Telnet) to be able to dump full transponder data out to a file, which would be useful for me with no other 16APSK-capable stuff. But I haven’t managed to find a way to do that yet. On the Enigma2 side, there’s apparently tuner driver issues that stop it from working (the Enigma2 drivers will only provide a specific channel/channels to the front end via their PIDs, rather than a transponder dump with all PIDs). I’ve not tried the LinuxOS side yet.

Similar to 5W it seems they are transmitting some mxf files, it is not satellite Internet.

Ahh OK, so it’s cinema packages then on 10850V? Thanks!

As far as lists for 16APSK stuff, I’ve not seen anything specific before. Just the stuff listed in amongst the other content on sites like Flysat.

I have no access to my satellite equipment for the moment, but if anyone tried the FAN3 solution perhaps should try for these as well...

Looks like it's changed to LaLiga TV today. It is curious as to who these types of broadcasts are intended for!

At 10850 H,30000,2/3,16APSK we have a transmission ip-over-sat.I haven't been able to determine who the provider is.But it definitely has a media content.

Not sure there's a commercial receiver capable to play an ip-over-sat.I tried with DM920HD and nothing. Instead, with dvb cards and related apps you can run an ip-over-sat stream, like this FAN3.

There isn't,or at least I don't know that someone can run a generic stream with clear images,at least on Windows. With the applications we have at the moment we can only know what type of stream it is and possibly information that is transmitted.
At 11422 H there are several tv programs(probably promo) transmitted at the same time.We still don't have an application to decode an encapsulated stream, such as this one.

I've seen there's been some development of a tool for GSE to decode the baseband frames, and this has been tested with some PC cards (like TBS6903X) to successfully decode Norwegian DAB from 0.8°W which are DVB-GSE encapsulated. I don't know if these feeds on 30°W are similar though and if it would work for them too?

You are right,@Adam792, that attempts to decode generic stream were made,as are those on the links given by you,but let's not forget, that those tests are for Linux and not on Windows!

As long as you have a receiver which is able to lock, FAN3 works with satdreamgr image.
