I took delivery of my Octagon box today and I am very happy with it. Excellent picture quality and signals are well up on this box compared to my old Medion box. I found it easy to set up and I'm impressed at the way it speedily scans and searches satellites. A great buy and so pleased that I didn't buy the Technomate!

They claim that it is E2 but it is so easy to set up it may be E Closed option.

The only downside to the SX88/SX88+ is that it can be relatively slow to change channels on the same sat - and the menus are not that straightforward to master (especially getting it to stop a recording that is in process!).

E2 or none E2 software??

its CLOSED source, i.e NOT E2 - it has something called E2 TV which is great, it lets you control another E2 box on your network, so you can control it as if you're at the main E2 STB....very cool ! and its great for blind search
