Arqiva to be broken up?

Could this effect the UK channels on Intelsat 907

Two years ago, UK-based transmission specialist Arqiva was contemplating a £6 billion IPO, but now reports are circulating that its owners are contemplating breaking the company up into its various divisions and possible disposals.
Arqiva is responsible for transmitting the UK’s terrestrial television and radio signals. Its satellite uplinking business – which has struggled to be profitable for some years – could also be included. Its satellite division revenues fell by 7.1 per cent in the half-year to Dec 31st 2018.

Arqiva also owns about 8,000 cellular radio towers. It also carries the UK’s ‘Freeview’ signal of 31 video DVB-T streams and manages the ‘Freeview Play’ on-demand system and most of the UK’s digital radio stations.
Last year, the business reported overall revenues of £962 million (and £482.9m for the half-year to December 31 2018).
The company is owned by investment funds including Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Australia’s Maquarie.
Amongst the options under consideration, reported London’s Sunday Telegraph, could be to float a portion of the business.
However, affecting the decisions could be Arqiva’s debt, which amounted to £1.562 billion (as at December 31st last year).

BT ‘seeks assurance’ on doubling FTTH

BT CEO Philip Jansen has visited the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, looking for assurance on ROI if it delivers on the PM’s promise of ‘full fibre broadband sprouting’ in every premises.
The PM has declared he wants the UK’s 32 million premises to have full-fibre 1Gb access by 2025: more than double BT’s planned deployment. BT is only a recent convert to FTTH and had been at the bottom of the FTTH Council’s fibre penetration ranking. It had been standing by an FTTC then copper to the home plan, but its hand was forced to FTTH by political and industry demands mainly around the deployment of 5G.
Now BT has committed to passing four million homes with full fibre and a soft overall target of 15 million sometime in the middle 2020s. BT has stated it would take than £30 billion (€33bn) extra investment and an additional 30,000-strong workforce to hit the Prime Minister’s targets.
As with previous infrastructure upgrades Jansen is thought to be looking for assurance it will have time to recoup its investment either with exclusive supply or a margin fixed for competitor access.

Eutelsat & MEV satellite launch delayed

International Launch Services, the commercial arm of the Russian Proton rocket launch system, has delayed the launch of Eutelsat’s latest craft, E-5 West. The delay also represents a delay for Eutelsat’s co-launch passenger, MEV-1.
The dual payload launch was due for lift-off on September 30th, but is now delayed while a possible electrical issue is resolved.

The issue is being investigated by Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center, ILS said in a press release. Khrunichev and ILS will re-establish a new launch date once the issue was resolved.
Eutelsat’s partner on the Kazakhstan launch is Northrop Grumman’s Mission Extension Vehicle-1 (MEV-1), a so-called ‘space tug’ which is designed to launch to geostationary orbit and to attach itself to Intelsat’s 901 satellite.
I-91 was launched in 2001 and is reportedly fully operational but low on fuel. MEV-1 should give the satellite an extra 5 years of lucrative working life. MEV-1 is capable of then detaching itself and moving itself to another rescue mission.

The first satellite servicing spacecraft launches successfully
As rocket launches go, the lift-off of a 58.2-metre (191-foot-tall) Russian Proton rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan within the last hour, was not particularly eventful – thankfully – but what was interesting was its payload. Stowed onboard was a pioneering Northrop Grumman-built satellite designed for one purpose - to give ageing spacecraft a new lease of life.
The satellite in question is the Mission Extension Vehicle, or MEV 1, and it is the industry’s first commercial servicing mission. Its target is a 18-year-old Intelsat communications currently orbiting more than 35,000 kilometres (22,000 miles) above Earth, and it's running low on fuel.

Please DO NOT cut & paste complete articles from other websites -

Members doing that have led to complaints from other sites in the past. The first couple of paragraphs is fine, but then post the link so anyone interested can go and read the article. You deprive the other site of its advertising revenue & page clicks if you just swipe the entire article.

The only ok thing to cut & paste in entirity are official press releases, but even then the article should be attributed - normally by posting its link.

I'm fascinated as to what these are used for! If I remember correctly they're in a lower than broadcast resolution (640x360?). Síminn is an ISP in Iceland with an IPTV system, but you would expect that the SD channels over the IPTV network itself will be regular PAL 576i resolution, so it doesn't really make sense for these to be the feeds for it.

There's one on ABS-3A 3ºW 12711V carrying Hringbraut TV and a couple of Icelandic/Faroese radio stations in a similar format too according to Flysat.

Indeed,it is as you say about IPTV Siminn.I don't know who the beneficiary/recipient of this stream.
It's just that the video resolution(720x404) is a little bigger and,you see,it's HEVC codec! 228.5.6.7 is stream radio.
Again true, the stream at 3.0W is from the same provider in Iceland. What's interesting is that you can see these streams in real time and cursive, but provided the signal is strong, over 10dB,and what is important, that they are not coded.
