I hope this is the right topic to post my question:what do you think, what is the real speed that I get from the same provider and on the same pc in short span of time that I tested on Windows and on Linux?
Windows:
Download:180.21 Mbps,Upload:199.68 Mbps,
Linux:-Ubuntu:
Download:156.65 Mbps,Upload:51.53 Mbps.
It seems to me a big difference between the two systems. I was expecting that on Linux to be higher speeds for both download and upload. Maybe I get an explanation...
Thanks

64 bit (windows?) vs 32 bit (Ubuntu?) OS maybe??

And is this on an internal LAN port on the mother board or PCI card?

You're right,I was supposed to mention what version of OS it runs.Win10 64bit and Ubuntu 16.04 64bit are installed on the same computer on two different SSD(C & D) and the internal LAN port is for MB for both OS from the same provider and the same router. So only one OS runs once and not two.
My regards

off topic and for reference, am very happy to get around 1 to 4 Mb down (depending on time of day) and 0,5 up here in my French mountain village. The low speed increases the good feeling of living close to nature lol++

The Ubuntu OS may need to use the windows drivers for the LAN port, thus a slow down.....Maybe???

One way to test this is to get a plug in PCI gigabit LAN card that will work with Ubuntu, (Linux) so no driver sharing would be needed.

One that I know of is from Intel.
Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter
