My Satellite Setup
TM5402, 1.8m ChannelMaster offset dish, Vbox, PC= homebrew: Asus motherboard, i5-13600K, 32 gig DDR5
My Location
Sale, Cheshire
Haven't used my CM 1.8m , TM5402 M3 and Vbox since pre-covid; used the last week to hammerite existing dish wall brackets
and just purchased some more hammerite to refurb pole and polar mount.
Dish looks better now it's had a good wash and mould treatment with a shower spray.
Have to find out why my "Sat-tracker" Vbox lookalike comes up with "noPL" error in order to get dish moving after 4 or 5 years of inactivity.
I am in Sale, south Manchester.
Joined this forum as it appears to have some interesting posts that I can use to reorientate myself into sat TV 2024.

I've never had the NoPL error, on any of my V-Box II's, it might be that it refer to no pulse detected, to count the signal pulses, for moving the dish.

You can check that the motor is still capable of moving, by using a battery, I used a small, 12V, battery, I borrowed from my House alarm box.
I connected two temporary wires, to my Jaeger 1224 motor, positive, and negative, motor connections, then just held the wires, to the positive, and negative battery terminals.
If the motor moves, then you know that's working.

Can you please provide more details, regarding your motor, and wiring?

Thanks, I recall doing similar tests in the distant past on a different setup. I agree noPL could well indicate a lack of pulses.
Will do some tests tomorrow, weather permitting. It's a 36 volt actuator I got some years back.
The dish/mount setup used to manage to go from 42E to 45W.
I have had the back end off in the past ; I seem to recall replacing a component but don't remember if it was
reed switch, diode or capacitor.

Quick interim follow up. Connecting to 12 volts just gives a click. Have now uncoupled dish and so was able to look at back of actuator - plenty of evidence of spider eggs etc! Actuator is an old Strong either 18 or 24 inch and not particularly heavy duty. Have ordered a 36 inch HD Superjack from Sat Superstore as the existing one must be 20 years old and rusting through its grey finish (my last overhaul of system was 10 years ago).
Will post follow-up when installed and working.

Superjack now installed and CM 1.8m offset fed by new quad LNB . Now the leaves have finally left the large sycamore trees south of me, I can actually receive Thor at 0.8 W.
Thus was able to readjust polar mount so that it tracks ok.
Everything working from 34 West to 52 East with certain sats weak or unobtainable due to those trees.
10 E is very weak but everything east of that is good, i.e. Hotbird 13E through to MonacoSat 52E.
Hispasat (30W) , Telstar 12 , SES 4 (22W) all good. 8 West too weak here in Manchester.
All I can receive on 7 East is a few radio channels from which I have yet to hear any audio. They are called Bang-1 through to Bang-13 and are at 10847V. Lyngsat doesn't seem to list these but Flysat lists them Home - FlySat Satellite Chart.
