Well if we truly are alone, how do you account for John Prescott?

Whilst we are agreed and quite positive he is not of this planet, I think it is unfair on other aliens to give him that label

To be honest I've not had much chance to post as of late. Plus I thought Gaia was due for launch at the end of this year (which it is of course), then again it was supposed to have gone up a few months ago

This huge (nearly one billion pixels) array will be fitted to the European Space Agency's Gaia satellite, due for launch in June 2013.

The data will certainly be worthwhile once a few months have passed, as long as the telescopes on board function as per specification. The idea this craft can detect moving objects previously unseen might give some clue on dark matter and the debris that would hamper any long duration travel outside the solar system, unfortunately the resolution of the optics is still not going to be a safeguard on its own.

Yes, await some new from this last space visitor. Hope it will light up the dark matters.
Einstein did not predict any dark energy nor the even more darker matter

Einstein did not believe in quantum theory either even though that was formulated during his lifetime. Nowadays many things rely upon effects that can only be explained with quantum theory.

The telescope will produce the deepest, widest, image of the Universe:
  • 27-ft (8.4-m) mirror, the width of a singles tennis court
  • 3200 megapixel camera
  • Each image the size of 40 full moons
  • 37 billion stars and galaxies
  • 10 year survey of the sky
  • Up to 10 million alerts, 1000 pairs of exposures,
20 Terabytes of data .. every night!

Looking for Planet 10 will become a three nightly affair. :Y
