There is a Pear Tree in next door's garden that for many years has blocked anything further East than Hellas.

Today, it was severely pruned and for the very first time I have got 50E and 52E booming in on my 80cm.

Still can't get 42E >>>> 46E, sadly. Will require napalm for that!

I have been looking at houses in general for quite a while, to buy rent etc, and am surprised how many of them of appear to be unsuitable for this hobby from the ground or house tops. Many of them have trees or other homes and or buildings in the way.

I suspect that when older houses were built theses are around the old trees and when new houses are built new trees are added in their gardens.
Also a full view of the arc seems rare.
It appears that with most homes the front is on the south facing side.

I'm not a builder but someone must be able to rationalise this.

The other problem is simply that many older houses with big gardens have the gardens flogged off to stick a couple of new builds into. A quick buck for the owner of the old house, and with todays busy lifestyles less garden to look after.....
