Happy new year everyone!
I have a 120cm Gregorian dish.
Can someone tell me the best and safest lubrication to use on the motor cog
where it meets the drive gear on the dish please?
Thank you.
Regards,
Jules.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Is your cog the original plastic or modified to metal ?

Since it is the plastic type, see if you can get a tube of white lithium grease, though I recall using standard 3 in 1 oil without trouble many years ago.

You need to clean off every speck of dirt in the teeth beforehand since this will degrade the nylon very quickly.

Thanks for the info mate.
They say that lithium grease absorbs water though.

Never heard that one, lithium grease is used to lubricate propshafts and protect bearings in marine environments (second time today I've had to use that word).
