My barbecue made of three gas cylinders - 2018 I watched all our craftsmen on YouTube, how they make a barbecue, some from one, some from three gas cylinders, the guys are great. Although there is a lot of plagiarism, but everyone does it in their own way. I also have plagiarism, but I will try to make something of my own. It was in January-February 2018. There is a lot of time in the winter and this is what I got. There were about 200 photos, but I will not print them all, but the most useful ones on how to do it. And our moderator Rimants also encouraged me to make a barbecue. He made his in 2017. I will post a photo of my barbecue, where you can simultaneously fry, smoke - / hot and cold smoking of fish, meat /, barbecue, and other little things. An ancient Singer foot sewing machine and its body were used as a base. I removed the extra insides and secured a 50 x 50 mm corner with bolts. There was little welding work with the barbecue, mostly drilling, cutting iron corners and assembling everything on different bolts. I took removable hinges for all the doors. The door can be removed at any time. There is a hole for removing ash. Safety precautions. When working with a barbecue from a cylinder, you should think about how to protect yourself from an explosion. Even if you have completely unscrewed the valve and there is no gas inside, do not rush to cut the metal. Despite the fact that the pressure in the cylinder is identical to atmospheric pressure, there are still dangerous substances inside: condensates, propane. Pour water and let the water stand for several days. Then, to be on the safe side, bring the fire to the cylinder from a distance. It did not twitch, so everything is fine. You can cut, and the first one should be cut with water filled. I marked all three cylinders, cut out everything that was needed. Then I laid out a fire and fried all the cylinders and doors, then cleaned them. And started assembling.

Smoking process. In the spring I tried what kind of wood is best for smoking. I had apple, pear, plum, cherry waste. Grape branches, which were mainly used for smoking. First I lit a fire in the stove with the wood I listed, once the entire grill was warmed up, I inserted a smoke generator with grape branches inside the stove and heated it with grape branches for some time. The smoke was good, and I also fried and cooked dinner on top of the stove. The fish and chicken meat were obtained by hot smoking. And for cold smoking I would have to do the whole process only with smoke for 3-4 hours... Bye.

This is a steering wheel from a Ford Sierra, it fits perfectly to open the top of the grill. There are holes drilled at the bottom for air supply.

I really miss good old fashioned Soviet-era shashliks. My uncle at our dacha made the best marinated pork shashlik using a much less fancy "grill". Literally just a rusty metal box without a lid (so for grilling only - no smoking) and some apple or cherry wood... A bit of vodka and yum...
