Only thing ive shot today is rats 4 of them, never noticed them until I chopped the plants down, god knows how many there was to start with, 2 boxes of poison last week and there still running around so I borrowed an air rifle,

Indeed 150-500mm sigma, with my crop sensor in my canon thats effectively 225 to 750mm! Image stablized and it needs to be, its a heavy beast!

I will let you know once they lay the first egg you can be sure of a few pictures then, on the land I metal detect we have a breeding of Hobby/more, its kept quite but if you wanted I could let you on the land I am allowed to take a guest with me obviously that would be spring/summer when they return.

Still have to get reasonably close though, any bird 30 foot away still doesnt look too clever on a powerful zoom, be interested though definately.

The peregrines are easy for your camera Paul you can stand under the church/across the road, the hobby is easy to catch if they have young very protective I just took a few shots with me cheap camera and left them alone Cheated I guess , your camera will have no problems

That reminds me I bought a brand new camera a few months ago nothing like yours Paul but a slight upgrade (I think) to what I have, ive not used it yet :-dohI will have to find it out and give it a try :)

The birds obviously know that a cold snap is approaching, I have filled the seed feeder every day for three days and they are now squabbling over it

A few shots from this morning, ive started getting a few blue/great tits visiting regular now they grab a seed and vanish.

We have one that wanders into the front garden a couple of times a day for the purpose of foraging the debris that falls from the various bird feeders. All very eco-summat.

Female Kestrel from yesterday, think it may have been stunned by a collision, as they are not normally so approachable, checked to see if it was still there a couple of hours later, but it had probably recovered and flown off.
