Hi,
my NeumoDVB linux dvb viewer and satellite DX tool is progressing nicely.
Below is a video of how it is scanning the vertical band of 5.0W after my dish was deliberately misaligned and was pointing at 4.0W.
As a result, muxes from both satellites are received. Some of the features shown are:
Also not shown: the program crashed just after the video ended.
There are still many small things to fix, which is why the code is not released yet.
The program requires my blindscan drivers, and a TBS 6909x or 6903x tuner cards for the spectrum scan and blindscan (a few other tbs cards will be supported as well). It should also work to some degree with standard drivers and other cards (although not the spectrum scan and blind scan).

- the spectrum scan (which was acquired before the video was recorded). The program has identified candidate spectral peaks, which can be blinscanned manually or automatically. The video shows automatic scan. The currently scanning mux is shown in blue, succesfull scans in green and scans with some error in red. Spectra are saved to disk. You can either acquire a fresh spectrum, or use an old one for the scan.
- Graphical indication of signal level and SNR.
- Below the SNR and BER indicators, the colors show the status of service information processing. Red means invalid. Blue means processing has started or perhaps even finished. SI information can take a while to arrive, which is why the scan is relatively slow, as it waits for all NIT, SDT and BAT data to be received.
- detection of the correct satellite. This can take a while as the information must come from the NIT and the program takes some time to be sure that it has detected the correct satellite
- speaking of the current SNR level. Not so useful in automatic mode, but useful to align your dish. The program tells you both the satellite position (if known) and the current SNR
- detection on multi-streams
- constellation plot
