It seems that the SatDreamGr image is the image of choice at the moment for small step blind scanning? An Octagon SF8008 loaded with the SatDreamGr image looks to be a good configuration if 4K is required, otherwise the Edison Nino Pro would be the choice if blind scan were the main factor?
No image available yet for the SF8008 from Satdreamgr, the option is there but no image has been uploaded when I looked.

Hopefully it is under development and will be released soon. It looks to be a useful image for your SF8008 until the other image coders catch up. I asume you should still be able to overlay the Glamour Aura HD skin on top of the SatDreamGr image?

No, I think that skin only works with Open ATV, but as a belt and braces exercise I have the nino pro arriving today...

Ooh nice, be interesting to see a comparison of scan results between the SF8008 and El Nino. From reading the blind scan configuration points presented in this topic it seems El Nino might blow away the Octagon?

Blow away? It kills and sets the body on fire!!! lol

PS My skin works flawlessly on SatDreamGr, it's even on the feeds! I'd say it's even faster there!

The Nino Pro has exceptional blindscan. No other enigma2 receiver that I own can match its capabilities. Some of my closed source receivers can blindscan a bit faster than the Pro, but the output they return is sloppy.

A Good Signal Meter is important in a FTA receiver. My lovely Vu+ Zero 4K receiver has a signal meter that is useless. Some of the other new receivers are the same or similar. Why is this part of the receiver being ignored?

The Nino Pro shows signal in db and in snr%. I have never seen the snr got to 100 percent on my 3.6 meter dish system. I have seen C band signals close to 20 db on the Pro, but the SNR% never got to 100. This is what I want and this is what I need!

The screencap shows the Pro's signal meter on a 15db signal.Signal_Meter_1_20181106072317.jpg_20181106072413.jpg

This El Nino sounds like a good blind scan box, looking forward to some scan results and opinions.

Don't ever EVER bother with SNR percentages. Only SNRdb is close to trustworthy!
Looks like this Avalink tuner is the bomb! Still don't know how it performs with 16/32APSK and very low SR but still....
So, I can't wait for the first ever Edision 4K receiver that will sport the very same tuner!

Ok, I understand what you mean now. That is scan.cpp, nothing to do with the plugin. And not a step size. It is the minimum distance from the next transponder. Blindscan step size would be controlled in the closed source binary. Anyway now that change has been pushed to PLi it will filter down to other images that merge from there. I will add it to OpenViX later. But also we should look at the sync algo in the plugin itself.

This box is the business. Best blind scan I have ever seen on an enigma receiver.

In the blindscan plugin, I have changed the start-stop frequencies, symbol rate steps, and some other default settings.
I also changed the tolerance from 5 to 2 as seen below.
def syncWithKnownTransponders(self, tplist, knowntp):
tolerance = 2
multiplier = 1000
x = 0
def removeKnownTransponders(self, tplist, knowntp):
new_tplist = []
tolerance = 2
multiplier = 1000
x = 0

You may tell me if those tolerance changes should have been made or not. But the plugin works great for me set like that.

Perfect! There is something to change in the plugin so that DVB-S does not report Auto FEC, but I'm puzzled with Auto on 16APSK.
BTW, is my skin running on OS nino pro?
