Most channels on that satellite have the most awful picture quality found on satellite :( How can it be so bad....?

If the Eutel mapss are correct it shouldnt be any problem at all on a small dish across much of the UK- beams A & B have 49/50 dBW power levels across the UK. Beam C has up to 52dBW in south eastern UK.

Im hoping I'll be able to change my dishes around and use the 1M dish currently on 16E for something more interesting, replacing it with probably an 80cm.

Any improvement compared to Sesat 1 will be greatly welcomed. It's also difficut to catch here in Strasbourg. I assume Sesat 1 is being retired once W3C is operational ? Maybe the boffins can catapult it directly into the sun ?:)

Maybe 'stuff' is already moving on W3C, since this morning some transponders are coming through with a much stronger signal. For example, 11139 was one i could hardly see, but since this morning it's coming through as clear as a bell.

I currently have a 1.2m dish for Tring, only way to keep it stable in the crap weather here. will I need to change to a smaller dish?
Never encounterd this problem before

No you can use the same dish you have now with that size the signal will be stronger.

guess we have to see what happens once it's operational.

Thanks, I was concerned that maybe the signal may become too strong.

Always a possibility - Astra 1N is causing all sorts of interesting things to happen with the test transmissions - ghost frequencies, incorrect fecs.....

Ok, I will have to keep a close eye on it once the new sat takes over. Don't want any problem with that particular install.

The signal on 11139 has dropped off again, it must have been some sort of test...
