Advice Needed New ground stands, will it be enough ?

Hi,

I will star to install two of my dish, one Channel Master 1m20 and my big 2m60 prime focus.
I will need to design the two ground stands.
Both will be the same in shape, only size will be differant.
For the CH the stand will be 2m hight.
For the 2m70 the stand must be 2m50 to 3m hight.
This is my plan below, do you think it will be enough in terme of material and size and how big the concrete parts should be?

There is a picture of one of mine stands. Inner pipe diameter is ~120mm. In this construct it is always possible to make the pole plumb.

i agree i have had similar ground mounted poles with 1.2m cm dishes on it, although they were slightly higher. i used wire bracing for more stability. over time the bases distorted. a 13mm thick base plate would be minimum.

I just finished the new plans



The 2 antennas will be on the same line facing the azimut 200°
the elevation is 31° on my position.


I calculated the size of each ground mount to be sure the front antenna never cover the back one.




What do you think of my new drawing?

I think that for 2.6m antenna pipe diameter of 85mm is not enough.

Plus how much concrete are you planning to put into the ground? You can have the strongest pipe in the world but thats no good if the first storm jemmy's the concrete out the ground....

I found last week the same antenna in 1m80 version close to my home. the stand is very hight and strong. my solution is different. The 4 wings around the tube will help a lot.
i will see if i can found a 100mm tube but this is hard...
the base will have certainly 15 mm of thickness and bolts will be M12.

Anyway i will get some advice from a metal company at this point. I think it's too big for my small experience...

i plan a lot of concrete. more than this with a metal structure and reinforced concrete with fiber.

If you live in a wet area (lost of rain, soft soil) then don't dig a round hole for the base, but a square one, this will keep the pole, dish and concrete base from twisting in a high wind. (yes it has happened)

A couple of 2-3 ft lengths of old 2"x"2" "angle iron" embedded horizontally in the concrete just below the lower end of the wider upper hole would also help to resist rotational movement caused by high winds.

I use this plan only as a minimum reference in terms of size, weight and concrete.
my base will be rectangular and I plan to bring out threaded rods welded to a metal wire inside the concrete.

In France you need a building permit for an antenna of more than one meter ... for 2m60 I am not even sure to have an authorization.
