Hi All

I have brought a Octagon H.265 HEVC receiver. I cannot run an internet connection cable for this receiver into the room that I need to use this in. I have also got a USB 2.0 802.11 N wireless connector in the hopes that this would enable me to connect the receiver to my internet. Can anyone tell me how to do this or advise how else I can connect the receiver without having to use a cable directly from my router?

Thanks in advance,

regards

A USB wireless dongle should work (I did, but it now has a cabled connection) but it might depend on which one you have - so please identify it.

Send the receiver back and buy the version with wifi built in.

Just done a check with my SX88 (88+ is the same) with an Octogon-branded dongle to remind myself of the process, and thus:
- Plug it into one of the USB ports
- Click "Menu" and then "move laterally" through the menus until you get to the "WIRELESS" Icon which should then open when you click on it if the dongle has been recognized
- You should then see a list of the local router SSID's, of which your's should be one.
- Select that one, and enter the router wifi Password on the 4th line (where it says "Password"!), use the keys on the remote to enter that.
- "Save" (the Red button on the remote) the settings, and you should see a "Connecting" message against that SSID, and then "Connected" when it is recognised by the router - at which point you should find that you have a Wifi connection!

@ozumo
No need to send it back if the above works (as it should)!
