The Octagan SX88 is a waste of time arwful menus and interface plus remote but thats my own view. Prefere the TM5402 anyday alongside a Vu+ engima box.

Sat meters have really gone down in price if your back in the game such as the freesat v8 finder.

Hello all
I'm in a similar situation to the OP.
Had motorised setup at previous house, then moved, and have just put a dish up for the first time in years. The dish is on the end of about 50m of RG11 cable at the bottom of the garden. Have an Octagon SF4008. There doesn't seem to be an awful lot of support for this box. Is it any good?
I've currently got the dish pointing at 30w. My partner is learning Spanish. Just about everything is encrypted - more than it used to be. There used to be ways round this...

If I'm not mistaken, that box runs Enigma2, right? If so, make sure image is not too old (maybe try OpenATV). Don't need to be always updated to lastest, E2 itself has seen very little (non important) changes, and it's only worth updating an existing installation if STB need new drivers to fix 'factory' bugs. This happens mostly if STB is very recent and if brand cares to fix issues.

Forget 30W, even the usual FTA (international) news channels are encrypted, try 13E/19E. Check LyngSat and Flysat

I have Zgemma H7S, an Octagon SX88 - and an Octagon SF8008 (plus and old Xtrend 9200 and two Azboxes)

The Zgemma is good as it has triple tuners, 2 x DVBS2, and 1 x DVBTC, its a great box for everyday use. The SX88 was purely to see how good it is for feed hunting, - very good is the answer, it also allows you to hook into an existing E2 box (if you have one in another room - like me), which means you can control and watch TV on it, even if you have it in a spare room (for example) with no Sat feed into that room - i like it, but yes, its not for the front room! The Octagon SF8008 is great too, its my backup box to the Zgemma, and is also great for for feed hunting, its an E2, 4K box - i have this on top of the Zgemma, with the 2nd LNB connection from dish going to it.

Any questions about any of them - pls do ask.

I forgot to say, there are a few channel lists available for E2, that includes IPTV feeds, to get many sports and movies...

I got a SF4008 nice hardware but not alot of support. Running openatv here.

You be able to get RTP 2 from fiddling with blue panel.
