Hi all,

Now that I have my Vu+ more or less set up the way I like it, I'm still struggling with the French multistream. The channels on 11509H come through perfectly most of the time, with 70%+ signal strength. I know that's not particularly meaningful, but it's helpful to compare between TPs on the same sat when I'm tuning at least. However, I can't for the life of me seem to lock 12648V. The strength changes between 60% and 0% multiple times a second, and it never stays around long enough to let me lock it. All the other TPs on the satellite are coming through completely fine. I don't have a DECT phone so I don't think that will be the source of interference.

Any ideas?

Scotland is out-of-footprint so you are doing well to receive what you are. It may simply be that you need a larger dish. I wonder if @Gladstones55 receives this transponder?

Try altering your USALS Longitude a tenth at a time. In North Yorkshire I get the same effect on that TP even if the alignment is just a tiny bit out and despite all other TPs blasting in.

Brilliant. I'll try that again. I know that by changing it a little I was able to get the first TP, though that went from 0 to perfect, so hopefully I can tweak it enough. Thanks!

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Really? They are massive here in t'Repooblic.
The Bolshie bugger from the "t'Repooblic". is unfortunately correct - apart from having lost the French channels some time ago, most of the remaining Itie ones are still very strong.

I realise that my input may be pointless, given that I'm on the southern border of Normandy, but 12648V is coming in at 100%Q

Would probably be ok if I could have a 1m dish pointing at 5W but its running an offset lnb on I think the 10E dish (1m). I only get the radio transponders now so a complete waste of time.

Ah! I surmised you might have a touch of the Heath-Robinsons!

Seems like they’ve managed to make the signal drop-off pretty steeply on this beam from Northern England into Scotland.

The strength never really changed much here in Southern England, it’s a bit stronger than 5WA was if anything.

12648V is definitely slightly weaker than 11509H though (by a few fractions of a dB C/N). The high FEC makes them both need a very strong signal to lock though, I think on receivers with a percentage signal quality scale this can be extra confusing!

Are you able to lock at all? I'm not too worried about this TP since the one that I do get has all the main channels, luckily. But it would be nice to get a bit more choice.
