Get yourself a copy of pixresizer - its free and allows you to manipulate image sizes easily.

I can see the problem - you have 2 lnb's (the bits on the end of the dish arm) therefore you have to set the disecq switching up on the receiver.

Its possible the lnb's have been set up the other way round to what they were before.

Go into the receiver menu and look for the antenna settings - somewhere in there will be the disecq switch settings.

Write down what the current settings are then swap the A & B settings around, saving the changes.

It looks to me as the LNBs are in the right position. The right cable appears to be taped to the dish arm, the left cable to the offset LNB appears to be dangling free.

Using the flash on the camera would have helped, assuming there is one and it works.

Antenna Alt: 2
Satellite Name: Hotbird
LNB frequency: Universal
22Khz tone: Auto
0/12 Volt Switch: Disabled
DiSEqC input selection: DiSEqC A

is that it?

You also need to assign the second LNB (for 28E) to DiSEqC B.

Yup thats the one :)

Just change the A/B settings over.

If it doesnt work trace the cables back from the dish to where they will enter a small box probably about 3 inches by 2 inches. There will be two inputs (from the dish) and one output (towards the house). You should be able to identify which lnb is on which input.

theres no option for me to pick the first LNB or the 2nd LNB.

anyways, i tried all the stuff u guys told me to but nothing, i think i might just be doing it wrong.
also i think ill bring our decoder to someone else who also has a satellite dish and try to search for PCNE there. and then bring it home again and fiddle with the dish until i get reception.

When its light tomorrow follow the instructions in the second part of my previous post and trace the cables. Once you know which cable is on which input port it will all start falling into place

Dont forget you need to change the fec on the 28E entry back to 2/3

What is the make and model of your receiver. It would be very helpful to know.

I would be most surprised if the option doesn't exist - it's fundamental DiSEqC and the fact that you have got DiSEqC A allocated to Hotbird confirms the Receiver has DiSEqC features.

I suspect you've just not unearthed it yet.

Remind us what Make/Model Receiver it is?

Edit: Sorry, Hexah, missed your Post. Great minds!

Indeed. :)

It may turn out to be as useful as a chocolate fire guard aka a _sky thingy. Hence the root of the problem.

That is OK, it is for looping through to another receiver.

It has DiSEqC 1.0.

Go out to the dish and follow each lead to the switch.

Each connection point will be marked by a letter A, B, C or D.

Write down which letter the center LNB (on the arm) connects to and what letter the offset LNB connects to, then post it up here.
