I wish I had discovered these some 25 years ago. No more fiddling at the back of a satellite receiver trying to screw on F connectors. They work by screwing a F connector on at one end and then you just plug it in like it was a belling lee connector.

I hope this is the right forum to post this. Please move to the right forum if it is in the wrong place. I don't intend any advertising. Hope it is okay mods. Just sharing this.

I use them, though they can become slack so don't use them for anything non-temporary outside. @jeallen01 recommends the Vision V17-004 type, they appear to be more robust :)

Yes, I use them on my test lead, but they need changing pretty regularly, as ozumo says, they weaken after a few uses, fine for an internal permanent connection. I use the female to female version to connect stacked dSCRs and multiswitches on systems.

The Vision version is definitely better built and more durable than that in @daro2096's picture where the "slip-over" end "loosens" after a few dozen connect/disconnect cycles.

I got a batch of the Vision connectors from CPC Farnell a couple of months ago, but they now seem to be out of stock there and on the main UK Farnell website, as well as on Amazon, but it seems that if you really need them you can buy a tub of 100 from Trade Vision or Trade-works!

The Amazon link indicates that they are made in China (wherelse!) and so shipments will be "slow" due to the current lack of shipping containers over there (those are now everywherelse but China)!

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Anything added to a cable run from the dish (including the fitting of a wallplate ) is going to cause some loss, if not the whole band then at particular frequencies. It may not even be down to the mechanical fit, but the electrolysis that occurs from the mismatch of metals in the connectors.

I have been called out to many SkyQ systems where the installer has either extended the cables to a different location for the box, or 'inadvertently' forgotten to pull down the shroud of the LNB, moisture creeps in over a short period of time and then channels start going missing.

Well they were cheaper to buy. 25 for £5.69 but in the future I will buy more expensive ones. That is if I do. I probably unplug and plug in F connectors maybes once or twice a year so no biggie.

I found these last night, which have the spring clamp.

Like the one that @daro2096 showed, those with the "spring clamps" ones are those that open up/loosen fairly quickly because I don't think the springs actually do much to prevent that happening - they are the same as the ones I was using on the patch leads between the various Rx's and dish connections on my ad hoc "patch panel" that you saw, and which have now all been replaced by the Vision ones because of that very issue.
