Any one got any recommendations for a good handheld digital satellite MPEG-2/4 meter something I can hang round my neck as finding the Satlook a bit on the heavy side at 5.5 Kgs .

The Emitors have a strap, hang it off the polarmount or the actuator.

Sorry CH the strap is far to short and I am in the front of the dish hanging on a 8 foot step ladder and the polarmount + Jack is at the rear about 4 feet lower the only things in front of me at a suitable level is the feed arms and you dont want to bend thoses you might however get away hanging a hand held meter of thoses but the satlook is over 5kg .

Hi Satface where did you buy your Satlink (WS-7009) from ? as I can only find it for sale in the US . All I can find in the UK is SATLINK SP-2100+Satlink WS-6906 .

Why would you want to be at the front of the dish when aligning ?

Increase the strap length (attach a second strap to it) if it is too short, if it is uncomfortable then wrap a tea towel around it.

The two meters you have mentione have a very small screen that will not show up well in sunlight, and fiddly to use. The company that badges the SatLink will also charge for upgrades.

Sorry CH I am installing the new Corotor and feed arms so I need to be on the front of the dish on a step ladder . As for the polar mount that seems to be ok but if it does need doing its a pain .

I think the last time I set the corotor I had the loan of a Horizon HDSM but I fully understand about the sunlight and being fiddly as you know Rimants made a set of replacement arms and a new mount for the corotor this will need a bit of playing with because its a one man band over here but I have all the original measurements so should just be ok .

Oh, it's been a long time since I bought it (in 2013), it was from the german www.satlink.de website which doesn't exist anymore. I paid 350€ for it at that time so if you're cosidering Ebay, I think it's still worth it.

I'm sure Rimants design allows centering without being in front of the dish.

With the Rimants and my original you still need to be able to be able to reach the clamp and band area for this you will need 2 hands plus hanging on to the step ladder this is why I remember hanging the Horizon round my neck while I adjusted the neck of the corotor into the scalar ring . With Rimants design it just goes round the neck of the corotor and adjust in the same way . But the Satlook is to large to hang round your neck but I am sure I will work some thing out maybe tie wrap the meter to the top of the step ladder .

Ok Satfaca you bought yours from germany I will have a look and see if there are a german dealers on ebay .

Ok Guys I have bought myself a SATLINK WS-6979SE it just gives basic readings and can hang round my neck with no problem .

As for my SatLink FTA MK IV I think I will Sell it . Since its 5.5 Kg in weight and a bit to large and heavy to lug around and climb ladders with its got a new Battery , Case , Manual , Remote and charger . Cost me back in 2007 £449 so what do you think its worth £125 -£150 . Will put it on facebook then Ebay .
