You don't just lose signal, when you can see it raining, you can also lose signal due to rain, or other obstuctions, between your dish, and the satellite. You can reduce this problem, by getting the maximum signal, from the satellite, by peaking the signal, getting a bigger dish, or better quality cable, and LNB, both of which can deteriorate, over time.
What are your signal quality readings, at various times of the day, week, month, during different weather conditions?
The strange thing is that it just stopped for a while then came back full level and then went off again. Now that it is dry it is working without issues.

I wonder if it was some bird sitting on the LNB but it is too strange that it went off and back on a couple of times. Weather permitting I will check the dish tomorrow

Big drops of water on the face of the LNB will do it. I'm on the fringe so have to go wipe the LNBs when it rains.

Could also be a first sign of water ingress, as when it dries, it can work normally. You might want to check your F Connector, and fit a new boot, or self amalgamting tape, or both.

Thank you to both. I would say that It went off and back on too quickly for it to be a sign of water ingress but I will anyway put the self amalgamating tape.

No issues since even during the heavy rain of Friday and Saturday. I like to think that it was a bird of sort.

Good evening.
Have you tried putting visors on your =heads=? I always put them on different multifeeds. It helps in rain and snow. In rain, signal loss is insignificant. I cut them out of plastic bottles of mineral water or beer.
In the photo there is snow on the =head=, but the signal is normal, the visor protected it.

Hello - I'm located here in Vienna / Austria and my experience is the lowest Signal that you are need to receive is +4dB inside the Receiver. But this is the end of the Signal level. 10cm more dish bring you +1dB. I use a T90 and the 28.2°East is not to receive for the UK the BBC/ITV is not to receive! You need here so my knowledge a 240cm dish! I make some tests with my 80cm Kitchen-dish. Here my Video
If you use a bigger dish use a 120cm dish and a good LNB like the Inverto 410 PLL and a 4shieled coax-cable also important a Good Receiver like the Dreambox DM900 have a very good sensitive Tuner all this in sum make the result. It is also important that your dish is good aligned and the LNB is a little bit tilt to the East. Good receiving!
