Few of the pubs that have been showing sky sport here on the IOM have had the on screen pint glass showing :D

Yup - its an overlay applied to the commercial (= very very expensive) versions.

Pubs game the system by just using domestic subs - or streams now the games arent really available on other sats easily available in Europe.

I bet someone has come up with an overlay system, but I think they change where the pint is and if it's full or not from memory.
I used to think it was to tell you its going to be adverts and to grab a pint. I recall the old Videocrypt days where they could display a code on the screen to check it was legit for that premises.

I always put it down to an account issue but my mates dad had the pint glass appear on his domestic sub, no mutli room subs (So obviously no additional boxes).

according Sky have spotters who go round pubs & if no pint glass is present on screen they obviously dont have a commercial sub & Sky take the appropriate action, cant confirm this myself but seen posts on other forums about it
