As above: I managed to log into both streaming services, but when I tried to actually view any of the videos on offer then, after a few seconds, I was thrown back to the ROKU "Home" menu with the various streaming services icons - "rinsed and repeated" several times with the same result!

OTOH, this morning, everything seems to be back to normal and I can actually watch videos on offer.

Anyone else experienced the same "problem" and/or have any idea of what was happening yesterday?

BTW: I've never encountered this issue before, and I don't think there was a general problem with the VM cable broadband service because I was able to download and then watch videos & films from the SKY Catchup service.

Probably a server issue..

Some background update process on the Roku failing and causing it to crash or a bad update that sorted itself out overnight?

Again, another possibility, and maybe helped by the fact that I switched the external power OFF last night, and then ON again this morning - but, in reality, "who knows?"

I've had problems like this before, the fix was as you said a total power down of the ROKU device fixed it. It looks to be a problem with a ROKU update, after about a week the problems went away, last update I have is....June 28 2021, software version 10.0.0 build 4209,(external ROKU device, not an internal to a TV) after that it has not done it again.

If yours is older (it may depend on the model, mine is a 3930X- ROKU Express) then you can do a forced update, by going to the system menu.

I haven't used mine for several weeks, so shall flash it up shortly and see if there's that update waiting.

@Terryl & @Lazarus: Thx & looks like I need to check the f/w loaded on the ROKU - will aim to do that in a day or two (current "mobility problems" due to the new knee permitting! - basically I need a walking stick just to get around the house!)

Not "normally", but SWMBO is "exerting her influence" to make sure I do all my exercises (there's a lot of them) and take all my tablets (more than usual!) - so I suppose she's the "remote control" ATM.

SWMBO is waiting for a Hip replacement, so we've got all this to come. That said, an 86 year old fellow villager has just had one and he is racing down the lane without sticks after only two or three weeks. Mind you, he can't yet race up the lane!

I some times have to crawl around the house, maybe due to that bottle of scotch under the couch.

I find keeping a second bottle in the kitchen saves stooping down to retrieve the first.

Because of the pain-killers (Tramadol!) the most I'm allowed ATM is a singe glass of red wine - otherwise I'm told that I get very "irritable", and SWMBO really does NOT like that (am relying on her a lot AM, so have to be very "careful")

Just checked and it's 10.0.0 - but there were still 3x App updates to do, after which the f/w was still 10.0.0
