That receiver is a decade old at least - you will be lucky to find any sites still carrying the firmware. 1.0.7 apears to be dated Jun 2010, so most of the sites that carried it will be long gone

It's got 1.0.5 on it so was looking for the last update. I got it because the receiver on our lg tv was so bad I had no signal I now got signal but no quality of signal which shows my dish is way to small. Going to get a 90cm dish today.

Which satellite/channels are you trying to receive? Having signal strength but no quality means the LNB is connected but the dish isn't pointing at a receivable satellite.

The dish is probably pointed at the wrong satellite - you certainly dont need a 90cm dish for the UK tv channels! A 40cm is plenty anywhere south of Glasgow - and the only reason a slightly bigger 60cm is useful up north is the teeming rain

It's a 33 dish my mother told me I wasn't allowed to buy a large dish we have trees and everything here I got a signal meter arriving soon but figured to hell with it and get a 90cm one my neighbours are complaining about signal and they have approx 60cm dish and want us to chop our trees down but I have almost clear sight of a few sats with just a few small branches in way about 20ft away. Trying to get astra 28.2 or hotbird if you can get that I was looking at direction of sat and line up using program on my mobile phone.

You need to either trim those trees or move the dish to be the other side of them

Indeed when the leaf buds open up fully the moisture in the leaves will attenuate the signal and even more so during periods of rain.

How about a long cable and have the dish on the other side of those trees? A cheap signal meter that beeps will help to set up the dish.

Farmers field and the horses won't be impressed as the tv isn't out there.

You need to do something - those trees will kill your signal entirely soon (been there, got the tshirt - I went from a 60 cm dish to a 90cm to try to get the signal back - I ended up completely rethinking the dish layout as the gap the dish looked through had vanished)

Can you get the dish down very low and peek under the trees - behind where the flag is in the pic maybe?

You can always do a bit of sly trimming of low branches when no-one is looking!)

OK I assumed they were your trees. I have dishes on the end of a 40M cable so length needn't be an issue. You may have more luck if the dish is closer to the trees and lower down - so the dish 'looks' under the branches.

I have to say that dish looks a bit dented at the top which is also going to attenuate the signal.

I just bought an 80cm dish and monoblock lmb the trees are on no-man's land so I'm going to get a 48 inch rope saw and I already got a black widow catapult to fire the line over the branch and cut the offending branch off and I'm gonna trim the other tree to keep my neighbour happy.

Heres a thought - the tv satellite tuner might be less sensitive than the receiver, and the lack of signal caused by the trees caused the signal to drop over the "digital cliff" Trim the trees / move the dish and you may well find the tv tuner becaomes a viable solution again.

It also looks to be pointing slightly high for Port Talbot, an image from the side/front may assist.
