Well it appears that the big push to flog off Nexus 7 2012 and the recent price drops for Nexus 7 2013 are the precursor to launch of the Nexus 8 later this year.

As I'm not in a hurry, I am going to wait for a Nexus 7 2013 at the £130 mark (Once a Yorkshireman ................... )

Good choice going with the nexus. Make sure you get the 32gb one if you are going to be storing vids on it.

I suspect downloading or transferring Video will be a low priority with a 1 mbps connection!

My neighbour has the 32GB one and I checked his usage: O/S just over 6GB; Files less than 1GB!

That's why I bought the Samsung I got has a micro sd card slot so I can boost the internal memory by 64gb.

I currently only use it for web browsing and youtube/sky go viewing.

I need to fiddle about further with the universal remote app as I got only a few buttons working to control tv on/off and volume up/down etc.

Quad Core clocked at 1.8 GHz.

Performance supposed to be better than Nexus 2012 overall, and faster (but not better in other respects) than Nexus 2013.

Screen sub-HD and not the best.

16GB, expandable via Micro SD
Even got HDMI port.

But for the price ................. the pros and cons said BUY.

Not got time to play as yet.

That's a very good price for a tablet. My original HTC One X is a lovely phone to use - quad core 1.5GHz from nearly 2 years ago. Shame about the woeful battery life.

Sounds like an o.k. tablet.

The compromise on the screen resolution is not noticeable if you are looking at the forum or the web and it sounds like it will be fast enough. :)

You will soon find out what the battery is like.

Yep and price seems great.

Been really pleased with the battery life with the Nexus 7 - 32GB..........granddaughter really hammers it at the weekends....seems to last forever when on standby.

Looking forward to Tivu and his findings with the Tegra-Note-7.

All enjoy your weekend. :)

Don't worry - I've read widely (all there is - seemingly) and it's more than fair to say that for this particular manifestation, the underlying product bears no comparison with what has gone before.

Same, whether it be a receiver, tablet or washing machine etc.....reading actual user reviews etc is worth its weight in gold.

Looking at this forum's, together with others comments and as you say.... 'I've read widely (all there is - seemingly)'..... is why I decided to go for the TM5402HD mk3 and I am not dissappointed because, having researched, you basically know what you are going to get from the product.

Hope you enjoy the tablet.

Hope you enjoy the tablet.

Given Tivu's recent brush with painful gout, I'd have thought he'd seen enough tablets for now....let alone enjoying them.....

As for m'new toy, it's having a long wallow on Charge before I turn it on.

Kit-Kat is available for it, so once I've done the Google Mail, WiFi and use Double Dutch as my default language, it should be as up to date as some of the bigger brands.
