Does anyone know if the Echostar AD3000 IP has a sat scan like the 7700 & 8700. You tell the receiver where the east west and mid sat pos are and the receiver will find the rest.

thanks all.

All the recent Echostar models with built-in positioners have an autosat feature, which I think goes some way ton what you want. YTh user "manually" locates 3 satellites and the receiver calculates all sats between and/or adjacent to them.

Actually, it's quite clearly advertised in the literature. Take a look at thier homepage or pop down to your local sat dealer and pick up a brochure.

Thanks for you reply. What satellite says that the echostar AD3000IP has some software bugs. Is this true and if so what are they?

yes, like virtually every receiver on the market, the ad3000ip has its share of bugs. But it's still an excellent machine.
See here for more info (including bugs and wish-lists, mainly in English)
