Hi guys I got my Channel Master 1.2 offset dish some time ago and have fitted a Channel Master polar mount to it and it's sat on a ground stand.
Need advice off people who have experience with this simular setup.
There is 2 latitude settings on the mount declination adjustment next to the dish and latitude adjustment next to where the mount clamps to the stand.
My latitude is 53.0580
And
Longitude is -2.1853
According to dishpointer. Com.
I've read that the channel master 1.2 has a offset of 22.6
Any advice I would be most greatfull to get the dish in the ball park so to speak.
Thanks in advance
Roy

Forgot to say I was going to point it to Thor 5 0.8w to centre it for due south before touching anything to do with the motor.
Dishpointer. Com shows

Sounds like you don´t need too much help, from what you have posted you are going in the right direction.
Set it up as you are, and if things don´t work out you may need to come back, but I have a feeling help will not be required, but hope you will come back to help others!
P.S. dish / motor elevation or declination is always a guide, in reality, fine tuning with meter ( not metre ) is always best.
( Please excuse metre comment , we have fun here as well )

Hi Zonerc, set your latitude just over 53 declination 29.3°- 22.6 OS = 6.7 so declination set 6.7, 0.8 is the correct satellite you will have to tweak but you wont be far of at that, an inclinometer helps if you have one.

Just been out and altered to the settings you said Lee but the declination only goes down to 20 and screwing the bolt has far as I can don't take it much past that.
Trying to upload some pics but says files too big.

Hello Roy its far better with a inclinometer the settings are only a rough guide and sometimes miss leading to a new installer, you have all the angles you just need to put them correct, the declination will have plenty of room you need a 6.7 degree on the dish and 53.? on the latitude.

2x 1.2m motorised channelmasters . tm 5302, tm6902,

hampshire uk.
Set declination on top small screw use scale to set 53 lat. once set do not readjust.
Set lat adjustment rod to 53 align upper edge of upper nut with the scale you can fine tune this later
skew of lnb is set to 0 the skew is increased by the pm as it moves
for 18" jack use end mounting hole and clamp 220mm from mounting bolt with jack retracted
align on 0.8w
make fine adjustments to get full arc

Thanks Lee and I will do.
Not even got the actuator wired up yet lol.
Wanted to make sure I could get the dish right and centre on the mount before touching that side.

Will do Mickha.
It's finding time in the week by the time I'm in from work.
Do any of you use a meter and if so which on
I've a couple of app ones on my phone but not one to plug into the dish.

What receiver do you have? If you have an Enigma 2 based one them there are several phone apps you can use to get signal levels remotely.
