Advice Needed Sky+ HD for Free UK TV channels

Sky + HD , no sky viewing card, Broadband
My Location

I’ve got an old Sky+ HD box and a sky dish. It picks up all the free channels but it keeps popping up with a message asking to insert card. I don’t have any card.

Someone said you can buy them but it looks like sky have stopped selling them.

Is there a work around so I can watch the free tv?

Raven mk2 zone 2 x4, Channel Master: 90cm x3, 1.2m x2, 1.8m PF. CM polar mount x2, Az/El x3.

If you press the services button on the remote, then choose Options, in the Sky+ Setup section does setting Instant Rewind to Off make a difference?

Another thing to try would be a system reset, press services and then press 0 0 4 1 select on the remote to enter the installer menu. Scroll across to System Reset and press select.

Ozumo. Thanks! That seems to have worked. I set instant rewind to off and all good so far.
