Hi
Hope you can help.
I have noticed over the past few days that I loose the Sly News signal on Astra 19 each morning at the same time...740 to 750...my receiver pops up with a "scambled" message
and it is not me as i have been in contact with a few other people around my area (spain) that have noticed this also...all have 80cm-1m dishes and a varierty of receivers.
any one else notice this or have a solution or explanation?
cheers

its to do with the sun passing behind the satellites at this time of year. Look on this forum or google satellite solar outages.

No I have no idea however and this is....... very tongue in cheek years ago my friend once had a problem at the same time everyday and he would loose the signal, spot on every day at the same time. Turned out it was an underground pump less than 10 mtrs from his property pumping the sewerage up the hill (they lived at the bottom), it ran for 20 minutes every single day.

which would be correct but astra is at 19 degs and the sun at the time is at about 40 degs...

i know in my area the sun has problems with the 2d signals for about 15 mins (in the next few weeks or so) in the morning when the sun is behind the satellites but this is astra 19....only on sky news...not on bbc news or the other channels on the same frequency...it is like it goes temporily scrambled...it did flag up as "biss" this morning but normally there is no encryption detail..
