I'm actually surprised about the lack of general publicity on this venture.

The company - Virgin

Funding - tick
Relevant background - tick
Secured landing area - tick
Launch craft - tick
High altitude capsule - tick
Maiden flight - tick

and I believe there are around 300 people already lined up for the $200k tickets

The media will only become interested when something goes wrong

Sadly Topper, I have to agree. This project is just the sort of thing that 'Tomorrows World' would have lapped up and brought to a wider audience. It seems that unless you are a 'celebrity' or a 'wannabee celeb' or even better a no talent, no personality, failed 'celeb' the media isn't interested. I think it's a sad indictment of todays society.

Sorry, minor rant over!!

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

You'd think that being named "Enterprise" would pull us trekkies in... :-rofl2

Hasn't got the right sort of sticky-outy bits though, can't be the Enterprise without a saucer section and a pair of nacelles poking out of an engineering section... :p

Just takes some 'enterprising' geek with Photoshop.

Besides the spaceport is going to be saucer shaped.

Apparently Richard Branson offered a free ride on the inaugral flight to William Shatner. However he turned it down because, "I do want to go up but I need guarantees I'll definitely come back." Not exactly going boldly then!

Well, he didn't look particularly amused after getting out of the capsule.

All over safely. 351,000 feet and just over 2000 mph on the way up.
