spain national tv stations

hi i installed a dish for hippasat hoping for some spanish tv. but not much fta on this bird any more. imainly after the tve stations but can not find a bird that covers them all. which is the best satellite to use now. location norfolk

If you want all the national channels you will need a Spanish subscription - international service TVEi is in the clear but the TVE1 & La2 are scrambled.

Theres a few regional stations in the clear.

The Spanish TDT or Televisión Digital Terrestre bouquet of channels is indeed carried on Hispasat, but in our region at least is only available if there is no terrestrial coverage, as decided by an official antenista. Only then are you allowed to buy and have installed a sat receiver with a viewing card to unscramble the channels, which are all encrypted. I think your best bet is Hotbird 13 degrees East, which carries TVEi and Canal 24 horas in the clear, and Astra 1 and Hispasat, which carry autonomic or regional channels, some on both sats, while others on only one. As pointed out by Hughes you can get a satellite receiver that will open the TDT channels. They are in short supply as Hughes points out as the property "should" be verified. Saying that they are available for around 400 Euro on the gray market.
