Hi all,

As some of you may know, TDT image quality in Spain is crap and the only possible substitute it is the multistream in hispasat 30º.

I was wondering if any mate living in Spain has tried both options and can give feedback if the image quality is better in the multistream.

Thanks in advance,

If you expect any differences, then I'm sorry to bring bad news, but since the satellite feeds of TDT are used to feed the terrestrial Spanish transmitters, the picture quality is identical! What is broadcasted at 30W is exactly what is passed terrestrially, plain and simple!

What happens in this country is incredible. Broadcasting public TV in compressed HD, you can't watch a decent image in even a 40' TV. And everyone getting TVs from minimum 50" and 4K...

Last week I was in France and I had a 55" TV set at the hotel and I was amazed about the quality of the 5"W

Thanks for the reply!

I actually think that with the provided bandwidth in DVB-T and the fact that most HD channels co-reside with SD ones in one frequency, the quality is quite decent, certainly miles better at even lower bitrates than the Greek terrestrial HD channels.
Granted, the French provide HD almost exclusively and up to 4-6 channels per frequency, a better HD quality is to be expected.
Most probably the migration to DVB-T2 in Spain and the obligatory switch to HD only will bring a better picture for all services.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Have you tried defaulting the receiver menus to Spanish ?
If nothing else you might find the image quality is lower down the list.
Or a glass of vino / cerveza ?

Well everyone complains about HD TV quality here in the UK or use to, surely it can't be worse in Spain ?! With a new modern tv with its clever digital processing it can make even SD TV acceptable. Perhaps the 55 inch in the French hotel was a fairly modern tv ?
