Hi all,

I am struggling to receive 24h the next freq. In Benidorm with a 1.35x1.40 Famaval dish.

10788V BBC Red Button 1
11023H Sky news
11.053H ITV 2 ( this one is the weakest)

I have a drop in all 3 during afternoon from 06.00 to 22.00

I have always experienced the lowest signals during May-June-July but just to know if people are having the same issues with these freq.

Any advise? I aligned the dish in the past year or two to receive BBC 4 which were the one in HD which were causing trouble in the past, I can't remember the old frequency of this channel

1.8m Dish, most Sky and Freesat receivers, 80cm on Illusion motor and Dreambox DM7025, TDT, TDT HD, Ariva 100e,
My Location
Gandia, 70kms south of Valencia, Spain
11023H is BBC News and a few other BBC channels - not Sky News

This issue is down to your dish being right on the limit, not being aligned correctly, warped, poor LNB being used, LNB skew.
And of course heat and humidity causing less signals to get through to your dish.

I can just about get all frequencies (including the very weak 12168 that carries BBC One South, and others up in those higher frequencies that carry most C4HD regions and other ITV1 HD channels) on a 125x135cm tecatel dish about 40kms north of you.

Yeah, the tecatel is known to perform better than the famaval and also getting north from Alicante helps.

What lnb are you using? In my case a GI 402 twin. I compared it with an inverto black ultra and performed much better

Dont like the current GI Twins and not used them since i tried them when they first came out, the previous GI twins models were a LOT better.

I use inverto home pro for the tecatel dishes.

I use whatever lnbs I have available for Famaval dishes, as no matter what i put on them, they just do not seem to get all the channels like the tecatel dish does! Which is strange when those dishes were sold as the best thing since sliced bread!

I don't know if this may affect...but I bought it second hand two and a half years ago for just 20€!!! On the other hand the cabling is great.

As they are not expensive I will have a try with an inverto home pro. Do you recommend single or twin? No idea if one performs better than the other.

I have checked the aligment and it is correct, I remember that I always had issues in May with 11023, 11053 but I didn't mind because the channels in that freq. were available in another HD freq.

I always go for twins or quads

I've lost SD signal here in northern Italy the last few days. Even ITV which is usually the stronger signal. I'm sure it's worse this year - I don't remember losing the signal completely before. Only receiving Sky news, etc.

Even SD...that's too much!!! Have you already checked everything in your set up?

Not yet but I will do. Seems 180 dish maybe isn't big enough in the summer months and HD seems out of the question so I will have to use the internet eventually when SD is no longer an option.

Today I had a little bit more of signal, at least not breaking up in the freq. mentioned.

Anyway, I bought the lnb the mate recommended and I will try it tomorrow.

I'm checking this out but it would mean adjusting the dish as it's facing astra 28.2 at the moment.

May be fruitless exercise, but would be interested to hear how it performs.
Went to a Famaval "1.4m high gain" yesterday near Calpe and no matter which LNB i used, I could not get the majority of BBC or ITV HD frequencies.
Yet I know a Tecatel 125x135cm dish works closeby, like a few streets away, in the area and all signals available on it.

I am waiting for the signal to drop. I still have the GI lnb mounted but it seems that from yesterday the signal has increased so at the moment I don't have any of these ones breaking up:

10788V
11023H
11053H

I was having issues with all of them since last week from 17.00 to 22.00 aprox

I just can say that the dish in propertly aligned, the cabling is good, no joints, the dish is not wobble, and once I tried using an inverto black ultra and it was rubbish with Famaval.

To be honest I am not very confident to improve the performance with the new LNB but at least I will enjoy a bit

Ok, at 19.00 11052H started breaking up so I went upstairs to change the LNB for an Inverto Home Pro.

I must say that it was disappointing, as "woborny" said, I lost most of the HD frequencies, even 10847V was at the very margin.

I had my meter upstairs so I could try different positions of the LNB but nothing.

I ended up leaving the GI and fine tune it, I think a gain a little. For example, yesterday night 10788V was breaking up a bit but now it is ok. It was just a millimeter..

In conclusion, Famaval 140x135 works fine with GI 402 but I don't know if they are still available.

Now everything ok but 11052H which breaks up a bit and also 12168V of course!!!!

Set up a dish, found the transponder, scanned the channels, loaded and started the oscam-emu plugin on a Zgemma H9s. Nothing happening. What's next?
