not found in blind scan....so it cant find SR's as low as 1378

im going to try downgrading software in case a later f/w caused this, doubtful tho

disappointing. (sf8008 found it no problems)

i think the same is true for sx88 4k , going to try now.

From the beginning the whole SX88 series found transponders only from sr 1600 in blindscan mode, this is nothing new.
manually they can up to sr 1000.

Thanks. That makes sense .

What is interesting though is that the sf8008 which runs the same firmware but on different hardware can pick them up so it proves it is a hardware limitation and not software.

Do you know if the edision primo has the same limit as I believe the firmware is the same on those...

Primo is the same as the SX88+ in terms of scanning. If you input sub-1000SR transponders sometimes it shows lock, but in reality it's locking a nearby transponder with a larger SR.

the 8008 and the sx88 are two completely different receivers with different tuners

the 8008 is an E2 receivers with all the possibilities but also its defaults (can not find the MIS in blindscan ....)

the sx88 is a cheap receiver, but it is much more limited (number of channels; blindscan sr 1600 ......)

Actually that's not true! - with my "original" (2018 vintage!) SX88 and the 1.25m Gibby, I've now got Watan TV (I can see the logo!) "locked" on 11687/H/1378 - it was breaking up quite badly in the lower half of the screen to start with, but 5 mins later the picture has gradually settled down and I now have a fully-locked, and "moving" full-screen image with sound of what looks like a news or current affairs show.

So, I'm guessing that you have an SS/SQ issue for some reason - maybe the dish alignment is a tiny bit OFF (mine was about 0.1 degs off before I adjusted it).

I should probably also be having that - given that the dish is 20-25m down the garden and connected by a bit of a "hodge-podge" of CT125, WF100 and several patch cables with right-angle connectors up in our "office" - but now it looks fine.

PS: before anyone asks, I've been too busy with other stuff to play around with the PC & 6903 card for the last few days - will probably get back to that over the weekend :D

SX88+ series & BBC SatBack Intelsat 27.5W
SW version for the SX88+ passed 1.05.39 corrupts the Blind Scan performance so for now stay with 1.05.39

Unfortunately some transponders are blocked with these upgrades below,
AFP1 10°east 11346 H 27500
Digea Greece @ 3.1°east to name a few,

Unfortunately some transponders are blocked with this upgrade Firmware (Software) Update V10558 07-07-2021
All versions currently on line have this faulty software:-
1.05.67
1.05.62
1.05.58
1.05.57
1.05.52
I had to go here:- Listen Up - Octagon SX88+
Mar 29, 2021 for software that allows the Blind Scan to work as it was intended & no block some Ku band frequencies,
Firmware (Software) Update V10539 30-03-2021

AFP1 10°east 11346 H 27500
Digea Greece @ 3.1°east to name a few,

On a Blind Scan several Ku band transponders blocked with this software

Nice try Octagon but you need to rework the software passed 1.05.39 & let us know when you have corrected it Thank You,

I have several other receivers that clear BBC SatBack on Intelsat & normal receiver funtions work OK so it can be done,

But I do not need it has I get good reception of these TV channels from 28.2°east,

If you live outside the Astra-2 UK footprint then this broadcast will prove useful from Intelsat 901 @ 27.5° West if you can receive it.

@william-1 how many channels do you receive when you scan 10°east 11346 H 27500?

On my SX88+ I get "AFP2 EU"
