Has anyone else worked with the program E-Channelizer.
I was able to organise things the way I wanted but I'm afraid to try & put the settings back into the SX88+ in case it doesn't work out having used the program?

See Post #1 for the bit about how to download the existing channel list on the SX88+ to a USB stick - do that, and then you can reload that one if the E-Channelizer version doesn't work.

Something strange happened to my Sx88+ ?
When I press the off button the picture goes off on the TV but the green light on the receiver stays green & the receiver doesn't shut down ?
The only way to shut the receiver down is to pull the power plug.
If I reconnect the power the receiver boots up correctly & the remote menus operate properly.
At the moment the only way to shut down the receiver is to pull the plug out of the power socket ?
Has anyone experienced that before ?

EDIT: If I leave it the receiver it switches off after a few minutes.
It used to switch off straight away ?

It takes about 10 minutes to switch off (Red Led)

It's pretty much the same as loading a channel list from USB as you can download it from the link in one of the latest posts by Octagon Germany in that very long SX88+ thread and copy it to the USB stick, and then install it from the menu section where it mentions Firmware and then Update by USB.

OTOH. it is probably already installed - either because the receiver came with it like that, or because you got a screen prompt when you turned the receiver ON that asked you if you wanted to do that.

Funnily enough, my SX88+does that automatically, whereas the somewhat older SX88 does not/cannot and I have to use the USB method.

I download the file on a Usb key & renamed it auto1.mupg as advised by Octagon support but when I try to update the firmware on the receiver it tells me there is no file there ?
I am looking at the file on my Pc now ?

Maybe I should do a factory reset ?

I think I have solved the problem.
I had changed something so that the receiver was looking for a network server so that when I shut the receiver down it continued looking for the network server for about 10 minutes before finally shutting down. It was looking for the server in the Usb so that's why it couldn't find a file when I tried to update.
I eliminated the network server on the receiver so it shuts down quickly now.

I'm getting to old for this (****) now.
Why do I put myself through this torture
Of course we wouldn't have half these problems if Octagon provided a proper user manual where customers could find out how to use their receivers properly :(

Mine appears to take about 2-3 mins to do that.

Normally mine takes about 30 seconds but I haven't really done much with it yet other that entering satellite positions & tidying up the transponder & channels.

Tony.

From my experience with the PRIMO the box will be searching for the correct time before going into deep sleep mode. So if the correct time is being displayed when powering off, the box takes about 30 sec to go into deep sleep.
If the STB isn't showing the correct time, it can take some time to power off because it is likely to search for the correct time on a satellite transponder.
When de box is not connected to a dish, for some reason the box will immediately go into deep sleep, although it couldn't find the correct time

My Primo takes about 5 seconds to switch into standby... currently not connected to internet. In those 5 seconds if you press the power button again it comes back to life straight away without having to wait for it to boot.
